Job Summary
Dambuster Studios is seeking a highly skilled Senior Concept Artist for an 18-month fixed-term contract to join their talented Art team. The role involves supporting the Art team, working with Associate Lead Concept Artist and Art Directors, and setting artistic standards. The ideal candidate will have a standout portfolio, prior experience on AAA titles, and combine artistic flair with problem-solving, clear communication, and a passion for collaboration.
Must Have
- Work in collaboration with the Lead to follow and understand the art bible and execute on this in their own work and in feedback to the team within Concept Art.
- Collaborate with other departments to plan and execute on concepting work.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and Production to create and maintain an accurate, estimated backlog of tasks to contribute to accurate planning.
- Lead by example in their work and their attitude and be supportive of the project and their co-workers.
- Provide an accessible portfolio link with your application.
- A portfolio demonstrating a broad depth of experience as a generalist.
- A portfolio demonstrating understanding of illustrations vs. production concepts.
- Expert knowledge of Photoshop and other digital art tools.
- Excellent drawing and conceptualisation skills, adapting to styles for character, environment, prop concept art.
- Proven ability to generate visual solutions to complex briefs, adhering to art pillars.
- Solid knowledge of fundamental illustration skills: composition, perspective, lighting, colour theory.
- In-depth anatomical and architectural knowledge.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.

We’re looking for a highly skilled Senior Concept Artist for an 18-month fixed term contract to support our Art team. We’re looking for someone with a standout portfolio who’s worked on AAA titles before to hit the ground running, working with our Associate Lead Concept Artist and Art Directors. As a senior creative, you’ll set the standard through both your work and your approach — combining artistic flair with problem-solving skills, clear communication, and a genuine passion for collaboration.

- Core hours 9.30am – 4pm, remaining hours worked flexibly
- Domestic relocation support, if required
- Work-style: fully studio-based (preferred), hybrid (2-3 days per week in the studio) (preferred) or remote within the UK.
- If fully-studio or hybrid, you must live within 50 miles and a commutable time-distance to our studio in Nottingham
- If remote, you must already be based in the UK. Visits to the studio will be required as and when requested.

- A portfolio that has a wide range, demonstrating a broad depth of experience as this is a generalist role.
- A portfolio that clearly demonstrates an understanding of the difference between illustrations and production concepts.
- Expert knowledge of Photoshop and other digital art tools.
- Excellent drawing and conceptualisation skills with an ability to adapt to established styles and generate character, environment and prop focused concept art.
- Proven ability to generate a visual solution to a complex brief, whilst adhering closely to the art pillars of the project.
- Solid knowledge of fundamental illustration skills including composition, perspective, lighting and colour theory.
- In-depth anatomical and architectural knowledge.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
