As a Sr. Engineering Manager at King your primary responsibility is to be a servant leader to the team you support, helping them grow as engineers and delivering significant value to users of the products and services they are developing and operating.
As an Engineering Manager, you are an ambassador of innovation in the team. You have a technical background in software development, enabling you to support and guide the team, sustaining healthy technology and careers. You will partner with Product Managers and other leaders, to define strategy and execution for the teams.
Be a part of Game Production (GP) Technology, bringing flow to other developers within King. We are a team of 100+ skilled, knowledgeable, and passionate people,. We are cross- located in Barcelona, Stockholm, London, Berlin and Malmö, with a flexible hybrid working model. The technology we produce is used across more than 14 different King games including Candy Crush Saga with nearly a quarter of a billion mobile game players every month.
You will be working with the Build team, a Team that supports developers all across King by supporting continuous delivery technology working closely with game teams and our engine teams all over King.
Your role within our Kingdom
As a Sr. Engineering Manager (EM), you will work together with the team to ensure a timely delivery of technical solutions to address business needs while advocating advanced modern, agile software development practices and helping develop and promote great engineering and organizational practices. You will also join our engineering management community and collaborate with the product organization.

Support Technical Directors with strategy decision making
Engineering Manager (EM) must be able to share and defend architectural and delivery decisions that the team has taken, hence needs to understand technical details
Independently contribute to the long term Engineering vision, strategy and roadmap for your organization.
Independently partner with the PO, ED, TD and other stakeholders to ensure the right resources are available when executing product delivery roadmaps.
Deploy and redeploy people among teams if/when priorities change.
Contribute to the local Tech culture, exploring ways to improve how we work and evolve future of workplace thinking.
Deep domain knowledge and expertise in CI/CD
Inform and influence new release management (enable new release strategy)
Contribute to build or buy evaluations
Independently contribute to planning the implementation of new systems, migrations and deprecation
Evolve ways of working with metrics, data driven and data informed
Healthy team
Accountable to define the right structure in the team to deliver against the product priorities, and ensure that the right skillset is available in the team.
Develop strong communication and collaboration skills within team and to enable embedment in other teams
Grow support and service mindset
Grow skills that support user enablement
Manage and prioritize a large team and evolving product area
Solid experience managing tech teams, and successfully solving organizational challenges, and being comfortable leading a team of up to 10 people.
You have the ability to encourage, grow, lead and develop a team to high performance standards and an inclusive culture
Ability to steer to collaboration, balancing between stakeholder approval and forward momentum.
Experience building meaningful products. You are focused around the outcome over the output.
Demonstrate verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills that nurture a cooperative environment.
