Senior HV Project Manager role delivering 132kV grid connections for large-scale solar and BESS assets**.

Job description:

A senior-level opportunity has arisen for a Senior Project Manager – HV Grid Connections to support the delivery of solar and battery storage projects requiring complex LV–EHV grid connections (up to 132kV).

The role is pipeline-driven and sits within an established Independent Connection Provider (ICP) supporting a growing UK renewables portfolio.

There are currently multiple live HV connection projects, with a major Liverpool-based 132kV project starting in March, and further confirmed work extending into 2026.

Role overview:

This is effectively the lead Project Manager role within the business.

The successful candidate will take ownership of HV ICP projects end-to-end, from mobilisation through construction and commissioning, working closely with the client as asset owner and interfacing with DNOs, Grid, and internal design, commercial and construction teams.

Initially, the role has no direct reports, however there is a clear expectation that the Senior Project Manager will build out the Project Management and HSE capability as workload increases.

This role requires a high degree of autonomy and would suit someone comfortable operating in a senior, self-directed environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver HV grid connection projects from mobilisation to commissioning
• Lead 132kV ICP connection works
• Manage DNO and Grid interfaces
• Deliver projects under NEC contracts
• Set project delivery standards, programmes and governance
• Work closely with design, commercial and construction teams
• Support the development and hiring of PM and HSE resource as required
• Travel to UK sites as part of project delivery

Required experience:

• Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager delivering HV grid connection projects
• 132kV experience is essential
• Strong electrical background
• Previous experience working for an ICP / contestable works environment
• Experience delivering renewable energy or utility infrastructure projects
• Comfortable operating in a senior, autonomous leadership role
• Willingness to travel across the UK

Additional information:

• Liverpool-based role with 3 days per week in office
• Hybrid working with 1–2 days per week working from home
• UK travel is planned rather than constant
