Senior Software Engineer

GoDaddy is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its Payments OS and Apps team in India. This hybrid role involves developing and maintaining backend microservices for Android-based Smart POS Terminals and iOS/Android mobile payment applications. The engineer will contribute to secure, fast payment solutions, work with smart people, and scale the platform, playing a crucial role in a strategic product group that contributes significantly to revenue and innovation.

Must Have

• Contribute to mobile and smart terminal application backend services
• Architect, develop, and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure web platforms and solutions
• Build with NodeJS, Go programming language, and complementary tools
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code
• Participate in DevOps, release, and on-call activities
• Collaborate on high-impact, passionate Scrum teams
• Build automation for application changes and deployment

• Experience in leading projects and guiding a team of developers

This role is for a Senior Software Engineer in India who will play a crucial role on the Payments OS and Apps team within the GoDaddy Commerce business unit. The Payments OS Team builds Android-based Smart Point of Sale (POS) Terminals and iOS & Android Mobile apps, enabling secure, fast payment solutions for various payment instruments while also building custom payments experiences for our banking partners and merchants. This engineer will own the backend microservices for the two mobile apps and the Smart Terminals apps.

This product group is one of the key strategic pillars of GoDaddy, with an important contribution to the company's revenue, customer growth, and innovation. The right individual will be self-driven, positive, and able to amplify the talents of others. What you'll get to do...

• Contribute to mobile and smart terminal application backend services to deliver compelling user experiences, learning platform nuances, and provide mentorship to other developers on handling those differences
• Architect, develop, and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure web platforms and solutions built with NodeJS, Go programming language, and complementary tools. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using established protocols and coding standards.
• Participate in DevOps, release, and on-call activities in support of your code, collaborate on high-impact, passionate Scrum teams, and build automation for application changes and deployment for faster time to market
• Embrace agile methodologies to continuously release and deploy iterations of applications and services, interacting with various stakeholders to define robust architectural solutions with attention to maintainability, observability, extensibility, scalability and API design
• Coach and mentor your team, provide technical training, and promote best practices across development workflows

Your experience should include...

• 8+ years of experience in developing and deploying production-grade software, with 4+ recent years using Node.js
• Expertise in working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or equivalent cloud platform, with a proven track record in building highly performant, scalable, reliable, and secure APIs
• Expertise in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) and development based on ongoing testing and improvement
• Experience in leading projects and guiding a team of developers with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience with Test-Driven Development and observability instrumentation
