Role Overview:

The Senior Software Engineer in Test is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing both functional and automated test suites that guarantee the quality of our products. Success in this role is demonstrated by being a team player, coaching others to deliver high quality work, gaining thorough understanding of our applications, implementing robust API automation framework, expanding our web application test framework, and ensure high quality of releases prior to deployment to production.

Areas of Responsibility:

• Execute both white- and black-box testing.
• Identify current testing gaps, process flaws, suggest and implement improvements to increase product quality.
• Keep abreast with new and emerging industry standards and implement learnings to enhance our automation frameworks and strategy.
• Design, develop and maintain robust automation test suites for APIs using industry standard tools like cypress, RestAssured, or similar.
• Train others on the framework and best practices, perform code reviews and verify coding standards are being met.
• Working to minimize manual testing by identifying high-ROI test cases and automating them.
• Contribute to the relevant DevOps work and help improve the CI/CD for the team.
• Interact with product managers and developers to clarify requirements and drive projects to on-time, seamless releases.
• Contribute to the automation of Web UI tests.
  
  

Education, Experience, & Skills Required:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or related technical field, or equivalent technical experience.
• 4+ years of professional experience working in software development environments.
• 4+ years of progressive experience designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining automation frameworks using industry standard tools.
• Expert in both UI test automation tools (Cypress or similar) and API test automation (using RestAssured or Cypress or similar).
• Experience with performance testing (using JMeter, K6 or similar).
• Proficiency in Object Oriented languages (Java, C#, C++ or similar).
• Proficiency in relation databases (Oracle, MySQL or similar).
• Experience working with DevOps tools like Ansible, Jenkins and practices like continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
• Strong understanding of test-driven development (TDD/BDD) and ability to advocate and teach best practices.
• Strong experience with distributed source code control systems, like Git.
• Familiarity with enterprise architecture and SOA best practices.
• Working knowledge of Linux is a plus.
• Experience in the healthcare domain is a plus.
• Familiarity with SDLC practices of Agile (Lean, Scrum, XP or similar).
• Passionate, Detail-oriented and Proactive Quality Advocate with excellent planning, documentation, and communication skills
• Effective team player and collaborates well with Onshore/Offshore teams.
