Job Summary

As a Senior Staff Engineer, you will develop and optimize DC/DC power supply solutions for AI and Data Center applications. This involves supporting product go-to-market activities, including reference designs, application notes, and technical training for isolated and non-isolated converters. You will lead engineering design efforts for system solutions, create collateral, and provide customer design-in support. Key responsibilities include executing system solution roadmaps, evaluating system architectures, performing market research and teardowns, defining technical value propositions, and collaborating with marketing for solution positioning. You will also provide technical inputs for customer proposals and contribute to product feature definition.

Must Have

  • Develop and optimize DC/DC power supply solutions for AI and Data Center applications.
  • Support product go-to-market activities for AI/Datacenter applications.
  • Create reference designs, application notes, white papers, and internal technical training.
  • Lead engineering design for system solutions and customer design-in support.
  • Execute system solution roadmaps to achieve market leadership.
  • Evaluate system architecture and application requirements for server power supplies.
  • Research market systems, understand topology, content, and technical issues; perform teardowns.
  • Define quantifiable technical value propositions and collaterals.
  • Verify system concepts and provide technical customer support.
  • Conduct technical trainings for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Digital marketing for solution positioning on the website.
  • Provide technical inputs for customer proposals (RFIs/RFQs).
  • Contribute to digital & analog controllers and power stages product feature definition.
  • Possess 5+ years experience in power electronics, DC/DC converters, and lab skills.
  • Proficient in system design, schematic, PCB layout, debugging, test, and validation.
  • Experience with simulation and PCB design tools.
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews.
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills.

Good to Have

  • Experience using digital & analog controllers and gate drivers for power management (Si &GAN).
  • Experience in magnetics design and optimization.
  • Experience with safety and EMI compliance.
  • Advanced degree or doctorate in electrical engineering, power electronics.
  • Profound expertise in brick designs, rack power supplies, Artificial Intelligence.
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in Application Engineering, System Engineering, ideally at OEM, Tier1 or Engineering Service Provider.

As Senior Staff Engineer DC/DC Power Supply Applications you will develop, optimize and promote system solutions for AI, Data center application. You are responsible for supporting product (G2M) go-to-market activities for AI, Datacenter applications. This includes both isolated and non-isolatedDC/DC converters and will be responsible for reference design, application note, white paper, internal technical training. You are responsible for engineering design efforts for system solutions,creating collaterals and supporting customer design-in.

Your Role

Key responsibilities in your new role:

  • Execute system solution roadmap that help Infineon achieve the goalto be market leader in AI, datacenter solution provider (applicationnotes, solution boards, applications block diagrams, system value prop.,Tech notes, simulation models)
  • Evaluate and describe system architecture and applicationrequirements for Server power supplies
  • Carry out research and study systems being sold on the market tounderstand topology, content and key technical issues. Performteardowns.
  • Define quantifiable technical value propositions and collaterals onapplication level and evaluate new solutions such as GaN.
  • Be responsible for system concept verification and design-incollaterals, including concept evaluation designs and technical customersupport on application level where needed
  • Conduct technical trainings on system level with internal andexternal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Digital marketing team for proper system solutionpositioning, system block representation & creations on Infineon websitethat ensure the ease of searchability and understanding of solution forInfineon’s customers.
  • Provide technical inputs to customer proposals (RFIs/RFQs).Contributing to digital & analog controllers, and power stages productfeature definition
  • Occasional travel (Approximately 10-15% of the time) for customer meetings

Your Profile

Qualifications and skills to help you succeed:

  • BSEE or MSEE preferred in Electrical Engineering or equivalentexperience.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in power electronics with emphasis on isolated/non-isolated DC/DC power converters including extensive labskills for the test and debug of switch mode power supplies.
  • System design including concept, block diagrams, schematic, PCB layout and board level debugging, test and validation.
  • Experience using simulation and PCB design tools
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers in the team, providing training on power electronics topics, conducting design reviews before release.
  • Good communication skills in both verbal and written English

Desired Skills:

The Wage range that the company expects to pay for a qualified candidate in the United States is:

El Segundo, CA Minimum of $128,400 salary per year / Maximum of $176,600 salary per year

In addition, all employees will be eligible to participate in an incentive plan.
