This Lab Technician role involves assisting with lab support, data collection, Mac OS support, and assembly/disassembly of prototype parts and assemblies. Must Have

  • Conduct device test setup, data collection, and results compilation.
  • Support MacOS and Windows computers with configuration and upkeep.
  • Provide excellent customer service and professionally provide and receive feedback.
  • Self-motivated and well-organized to complete multiple projects quickly and efficiently.
  • Actively work in a lab environment and conduct repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Minimum 4 years of related experience.

Good to Have

  • Experience with Apple (or similar) product repairs (hardware and software).
  • Experience with fabrication equipment (drills, band saw, hand tools).
  • Experience with additive and subtractive manufacturing (3D printing, CNC milling).
  • Familiarity with EE fundamentals and test equipment.
  • Familiarity with Python test scripting.
  • Experience operating metrology equipment (Keyence, Instron).
  • Familiarity with digital productivity tools (Numbers/Excel, Keynote).
  • Familiarity handling basic chemical hazards (lubricants, coolant, solvents, paint, 3D print resin).
  • Knowledge of ESD safety procedures.
  • Technical degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent.

Apple’s Sensing Hardware team is looking for a Lab Technician to assist with lab support, data collection, Mac OS support, and assembly/disassembly of prototype parts and assemblies. The ideal candidate will have a board technical background with focus engineering support tasks. They need to be flexible, receptive to ideas from others, team oriented, and willing to work with technologists, engineers and others for continuing to advance technologies.

  • Conduct Test Setups & Data Collection
  • Support MacOS / Windows computers
  • Assemble and modify prototype assemblies and test fixtures
  • Assist lab management team with overall upkeep and support of engineering lab space
  • Work to resolve issues and identify areas for suggested improvement
  • Actively maintain Health and Safety compliance of lab spaces

Key Qualifications

  • Prior lab technician experience
  • Ability to conduct device test setup, data collection, and results compilation
  • Ability to support MacOS and windows computers with configuration and upkeep
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and professionally provide and receive feedback
  • Self motivated and well organized to complete multiple projects quickly and efficiently
  • Must be able to actively work in a lab environment, have the ability to conduct repetitive tasks
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs
  • 4+ years minimum related experience required

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $39.22 and $67.32/hr, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
