Job Summary
Apple’s Biophotonics team is seeking a seasoned process integration engineer to develop new processes and integration flows for silicon photonics circuits. This role requires a strong understanding of design specifications, extensive knowledge of process capabilities and limitations, and thorough data analysis skills. The engineer will also be crucial in driving the reliability and qualification of the silicon photonics platform as it transitions to mass production.
Must Have
- Background in semiconductor processing/fabrication
- Experience in collaborating with external fabs/vendors
- Experience in IC qualification and reliability test
- Knowledge of statistical data analysis, with expertise in using relevant tools (e.g., JMP)
- Proficiency in process Design of Experiments (DOE) and Physical Failure Analysis (PFA)
Good to Have
- MS or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Optical Engineering with a background in semiconductor processing/fabrication

This individual will be responsible for developing new processes and integration flows for silicon photonics circuits. They will have a strong understanding of design specifications, extensive knowledge of process capabilities and limitations, and thorough data analysis skills. Additionally, this person will play a crucial role in driving the reliability and qualification of the silicon photonics platform as it transitions to mass production.
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Optical Engineering
- Background in semiconductor processing/fabrication
- Experience in collaborating with external fabs/vendors
- Experience in IC qualification and reliability test
- 10+ years of industry experience in photonics-related applications.
- MS or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Optical Engineering with a background in semiconductor processing/fabrication.
- Knowledge of statistical data analysis, with expertise in using relevant tools (e.g., JMP).
- Proficiency in process Design of Experiments (DOE) and Physical Failure Analysis (PFA).
- Self-motivated, independent, and proactive in taking initiative.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team with diverse expertise and explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
At , base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 and $318,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
