Job Summary
Clearwater Analytics is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join their mission to be the world's most trusted technology platform for investment management. The role involves designing and maintaining automated test frameworks, validating complex distributed systems, and championing QA best practices, particularly for FinTech applications in OEMS, PMS, FO, and IM domains, ensuring robust, compliant, and scalable technology.
Must Have
- 4+ years of professional software testing and test automation experience.
- Proficiency in Java/Typescript/VBScript for test automation.
- Experience with Selenium/Playwright/UFT and frameworks like Junit/TestNG/POM/Hybrid.
- Experience with test management tools like ALM/TestRail/Xray/Zephyr/JIRA.
- Experience with mocking/stubbing tools and CI/CD integration (Jenkins/GitLab/GitHub Actions).
- Familiarity with QA best practices, Agile, Continuous Testing, Shift-Left Testing.
- Collaborate to define test strategies and automation coverage.
- Develop and maintain reliable automated test suites.
- Engineer tools to simulate market events and validate financial workflows.
- Investigate test failures and conduct root cause analysis.
- Advocate for and implement QA best practices.
- Continually evolve automation frameworks.
Good to Have
- Background in FinTech, BFSI, or highly regulated domains.
- Testing experience with Spring Boot applications.
- Knowledge of Python/JavaScript.
- Knowledge/Experience with building API, integration, and end-to-end automated tests.
- Knowledge of SQL for test data design and validation.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of automation build tools such as Gradle/Maven.

Role Overview:
If you are an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with a passion for FinTech, particularly in OEMS, PMS, FO, and IM, we invite you to apply for this position. You’ll be responsible for designing and maintaining automated test frameworks, validating complex distributed systems, and championing QA for best practices that ensure our technology is robust, compliant, and ready for scale.
Qualifications & Experience (Required):
- 4+ years of professional software testing and test automation experience.
- Proficiency in at least one of the programming languages such as Java/Typescript/VBScript for test automation scripting and framework creation/maintenance.
- Strong experience with at least one automation tool such as Selenium/Playwright/UFT (Unified Functional Testing) using testing frameworks such as Junit/TestNG/POM/Hybrid.
- Experience with at least one test management tool such as ALM/TestRail/Xray/Zephyr/JIRA
- Experience with mocking/stubbing tools and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (using Jenkins/GitLab/GitHub Actions).
- Familiarity with QA best practices, workflows, and methodologies (Agile, Continuous Testing, Shift-Left Testing).
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Background in FinTech, BFSI or other highly regulated, mission-critical domains.
- Testing experience with Spring Boot applications.
- Knowledge of programming languages like Python/JavaScript.
- Knowledge/Experience with building API, integration, and end-to-end automated tests.
- Knowledge of SQL for test data design and validation.

- Collaborate with developers, analysts, and product managers to define test strategies and automation coverage.
- Develop and maintain reliable automated test suites for functional, regression, integration, smoke, canary, API, and performance scenarios.
- Engineer tools to simulate market events and validate complex financial workflows.
- Investigate test failures, conduct root cause analysis, and ensure regression prevention.
- Advocate for and implement QA best practices across the SDLC.
- Continually evolve automation frameworks to improve scalability and efficiency.
