Sr Data Engineer

Synechron is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize innovative data platforms and scalable pipeline solutions. The role involves building robust data pipelines, implementing data governance standards, and leveraging cloud services to deliver enterprise-grade data products. Key responsibilities include optimizing Data Lake frameworks using Scala, PySpark, or Python, developing reusable libraries for data ingestion, ensuring compliance with data governance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to establish best practices. The engineer will transform source data into data products and enable seamless data egression to downstream platforms, applying modern coding standards for high-quality, reliable solutions.

Must Have

• Design and develop innovative data platforms and scalable pipeline solutions.
• Build and optimize Data Lake frameworks utilizing Scala, PySpark, or Python.
• Develop reusable, config-driven libraries and pipelines for enterprise-wide data ingestion.
• Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and compliance standards utilizing tools like AWS DataZone, Lake Formation, AWS Glue, and MWAA.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to establish best practices, shared frameworks, and reusable components.
• Apply modern coding standards and development practices to deliver high-quality, reliable solutions.
• Transform source data into data products and enable seamless data egression to downstream platforms.
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, Spark, and Scala for distributed data processing.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as AWS Glue, Lambda, Redshift, Athena, Kinesis, and EMR.
• Knowledge of cloud marketplace solutions, API Gateway, and data monetization strategies.
• Expertise in performance tuning of ETL jobs and query optimization for cost efficiency.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitHub, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, and deployment automation.
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Understanding of AI/ML integration to enhance data processing and automation.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps best practices for automated deployment, testing, and security.

Good to Have

• Experience working with Snowflake or Apache Iceberg.
• Understanding of data product thinking and data mesh principles.
• Exposure to AI/ML workflows and tools.
