Vimeo enables individuals and businesses to harness the power of video with state-of-the-art video creation and editing solutions, including AI-powered tools such as script generators, translations, and text-based video editing. These products are built on top of a solid foundation of sophisticated and cutting-edge technologies. The Vimeo API is a core component that is central to our ability to deliver best-in-class video capabilities. Internal teams can quickly dream up and build exceptional customer experiences on top of this architectural foundation. External partners also make use of the Vimeo API as they build integrations that extend the utility of the Vimeo video solution both via on-ramps into Vimeo and off-ramps as videos are published across partner platforms.

We are looking for an experienced product manager who can define and execute a grand vision for API’s at Vimeo. This individual will work closely with internal product and engineering teams to ensure the Vimeo API continues to push the envelope in terms of performance, scalability, and security. You will also be responsible for operationalizing a partner ecosystem centered on developer tools and streamlined partner onboarding and enablement.

If you have a thirst for continuous learning, dedication to action-oriented analysis, an obsessive focus on the customer, and an attitude that anything is possible, then Vimeo is the place for you.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop a compelling vision that is built on top of a deep understanding of technology.
  • Partner with engineering to ship functionality that powerfully enables scalable and secure functionality.
  • Monitor each stage of the API product lifecycle.
  • Set a high bar for success, never accept the status quo, look for every opportunity you can find to innovate.
  • Manage the execution of initiatives from solution through launch - engaging all the right teams at Vimeo along the way.
  • Define metrics for success and failure and analyze and create dashboards for key metrics.

Skills and knowledge you should possess:

  • 12+ years of experience in product management with a proven track record of successfully launching solutions.
  • 8+ years of experience building and launching individual API’s as well as public API platforms.
  • Computer Science background or equivalent technical experience.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
