Job Summary

As a Sr. Sales Engineer in Information Security at Proofpoint, you will be a critical business partner in the sales process, driving growth for the Advanced Technology Group (ATG). You will act as a trusted advisor to account managers and customers, specializing in Information Security to deliver People-Centric solutions. Key responsibilities include designing and architecting security solutions, conducting technical discovery and demos, managing Proof-of-Concept evaluations, and collaborating with various internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and product improvement. You will also enable regional sales teams and contribute to strategic account penetration.

Must Have

  • Design and architect People-Centric Security solutions (DSPM, Enterprise DLP, CASB, Insider Threat Management, Endpoint DLP, Email DLP, Browser Isolation)
  • Conduct technical discovery, demos, POCs, and Production Evaluations
  • Build trust and rapport with customers and prospects
  • Collaborate with ATG Sales Specialists & Account Teams for penetration strategies
  • Own enablement plan for regional core email SE technical sales teams
  • Work collaboratively with Professional Services, Support, Engineering, and Product Management
  • Provide customer insight to Product Management, Marketing, and Engineering
  • Develop solutions and establish processes within the team
  • Minimum 5+ years experience as a Sales Engineer or Security Architect in Data Security domain
  • Good understanding of Cybersecurity market landscape and competition (Data or cloud security)
  • Domain expertise in core security technologies (Enterprise DLP, CASB, Insider Threat Management, Endpoint Security, Isolation, ZTNA, SWG, Proxy)
  • Good understanding of the sales process and sales engineer roles
  • Very strong technical presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to see "the Big Picture" and architect solutions for business issues
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Ability to work independently, adapt quickly, and maintain a positive attitude
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
  • Based in Saudi Arabia, covering Middle East and Africa

The Role and the Team

At Proofpoint, the members of our Sales Engineering team are highly valued business partners that play a critical role in our sales process every single day.

As a Sr. Sales Engineer, Information Security in the fast-growing Advanced Technology Group (ATG), you will be one of the most important members of the Proofpoint sales team driving growth for Proofpoint. You will become a trusted advisor to both the Specialist Account Managers you are paired with, as well as our current and future customers. As a subject matter expert focused on Information Security, you will help to deliver People-Centric solutions.

Candidates for this role need to be based in Saudi Arabia. Regions covered primarily will be Middle east and Africa, occasionally other regions based on opportunities and coverage.

Your day-to-day

The Sr. Sales Engineer, Information Security is the Technical Lead for the Proofpoint Pre-Sales process, including:

  • You will design and architect People-Centric Security solutions encompassing the Data Security portfolio, including DSPM, Enterprise DLP, CASB, Insider Threat Management, Endpoint DLP, Email DLP and Browser Isolation
  • Work closely with customers/prospects for technical discovery, demos as well as planning, execution and wrap up of Proof-of-Concept (POC) and Production Evaluations in tandem with the account team
  • Build trust and rapport with customers and prospects in person, and be their main technical point of contact throughout the process as a domain expert
  • Collaborate with the ATG Sales Specialists & Account Teams to develop and execute targeted account penetration strategies and regional strategy
  • Own the enablement plan for your region to get the core email SE technical sales teams conversation ready. Develop and deliver training presentations to peers, account managers, and other teams within Proofpoint
  • Work collaboratively with other groups, including Professional Services, Support, Engineering, and Product Management, to ensure the effective operation of the team, achieve the technical win, and ensure ongoing customer satisfaction
  • Provide valuable customer insight and real-world experiences to Product Management, Marketing, and Product Development (Engineering) teams to help keep our solutions the best in the industry
  • Help develop solutions to common challenges and establish processes within the team, broader group, and across the sales engineering organization

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 5+ years of proven track record and experience selling solutions as a Sales Engineer and/or related Security Architecture roles; in the Data Security domain
  • Good understanding of the Cybersecurity market landscape and competition, ideally in the Data or cloud security domain
  • Domain expertise in one or more core security technologies, such as Enterprise DLP, CASB, Insider Threat Management, Endpoint Security, Isolation, ZTNA, SWG, & Proxy
  • Must have a good understanding of the sales process and the roles and responsibilities of a sales engineer
  • Very strong technical presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to see and present “the Big Picture,” uncover business challenges, and architect a solution to solve customer business issues
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, high energy environment and have the ability to work independently, adapt quickly, and maintain a positive attitude
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
  • CISSP or similar industry certification beneficial
  • The role will require travel approx. 25%
