We are seeking a highly motivated and product-obsessed Strategic Partner Manager to take the lead in building and maintaining relationships with some of our largest, most strategic partners. This role focuses on developing meaningful partnerships with market leaders in AI/SaaS/Technology to significantly impact growth by co-developing integrated product experiences and promoting them to common users at scale. You will manage a portfolio of new and existing strategic partners, educating and securing commitments to create compelling product experiences that bring new enterprises to Zapier. This position is ideal for entrepreneurial individuals who understand technology partners' needs, are intrigued by innovative products, and can architect mutually beneficial growth strategies.
Good To Have:
  • Prior experience working with or within large technology companies.
  • Managed co-selling programs with large enterprise partners.
  • Subject matter expert in a key category where Zapier operates.
  • Comfortable using AI tools to generate prototypes.
Must Have:
  • 8+ years of experience developing partnerships and net-new business, particularly with larger, more complex technology partners.
  • Ability to build relationships, navigate large organizations, and influence key decision makers.
  • Prior sales experience, including pitching, negotiating, and operating under revenue-based performance goals.
  • Deep understanding of SaaS partner ecosystems and experience in developing co-developed product experiences.
  • Product and marketing savvy, with intuition for a partner's product and ability to assess product challenges.
  • Technical aptitude, able to assess a partner’s product + APIs and provide guidance to developers.
  • Data-driven approach to strategy, self-serving insights from BI tools, and measuring work outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of Zapier and the workflow automation space.

With 8,000+ partners in our ecosystem (and growing), this team focuses on developing meaningful partnerships with market leaders in AI/SaaS/Technology that can significantly impact our growth by co-developing integrated product experiences and promoting them to our common users at scale. We create first-of-their-kind product experiences with partners that will be seen by millions of users, ensure our most popular integrations are continuously improved, and develop custom joint marketing campaigns to drive increased awareness and activation.

As a Strategic Partner Manager, you will be responsible for a focused portfolio of new and existing strategic partners. You’ll educate, motivate, and secure commitments from these partners, resulting in compelling product experiences that bring new enterprises to Zapier. This is the ideal position for entrepreneurial individuals who excel at understanding the needs of technology partners, are intrigued by innovative products and technologies, and can architect mutually beneficial growth strategies. Your ability to build relationships, both internally and externally, will be critical, as will be your resourcefulness, analytical skills, and grit.

About You

You’ve done this before. You have 8+ years of experience developing partnerships and net-new business, particularly with larger, more complex technology partners. You can point to a portfolio of multiple high-value partnerships and/or deals that you led from start to finish.

You’re a relationship builder. You easily connect with individuals and identify areas of collaboration. You have the ability to navigate large organizations and find/influence the key decision makers. Prior experience working with or within large technology companies is important.

You have prior sales experience. You have experience pitching, negotiating, and winning new business, crafting your own narratives, and operating under revenue-based performance goals. Bonus points if you’ve managed co-selling programs with large enterprise partners.

You know SaaS. You have a deep understanding of SaaS partner ecosystems and experience in developing and creating win-win co-developed product experiences. Ideally, you’re already a subject matter expert in a key category where Zapier operates.

You have product and marketing savvy. You have an intuition for a partner's product and can quickly assess what product challenges Zapier can help solve. You will be expected to quickly build credibility with internal and external Product Managers and GTM counterparts.

You’re technical, and eager to use AI to increase your impact. You’re able to assess a partner’s product + APIs, understand where a partnership with Zapier can add value, and provide guidance to external + internal developers on how a co-developed product solutions can/should look. You may not be a coder by trade, but you’re comfortable using AI tools to generate prototypes, and you can hold your own in conversations with product and engineering teams.

You are data driven. You use data to develop strategy, and have comfort self-serving the insights you need from BI tools. You measure your work and outcomes with our strategic partners to ensure continued performance.

You’re an excellent communicator. You understand the value we provide to partners and can transparently articulate your point of view to partners and internal stakeholders in both verbal and written formats. We are, and always have been, a 100% remote team, and writing is our primary means of communication at Zapier.

You get Zapier. You’re already familiar with the workflow automation space. Deep understanding of Zapier and our ecosystem is a strong requirement for this role.

Things You’ll Do

  • Build, grow, and own external partner relationships for Zapier, establishing Zapier as the automation partner-of-choice in the market, managing a pipeline of partnership opportunities from ideation to execution
  • Work with Zapier’s most strategic partners to co-develop best-in-class product solutions + experiences for our shared users.
  • Develop, negotiate, pilot, and scale new revenue and distribution models for Zapier hand-in-hand with strategic partners and internal product + go-to-market teams
  • Support go-to-market efforts for Zapier’s current & future products where partners play a key role
  • Move large projects forward by driving internal & external alignment with a diverse group of cross-functional stakeholders, including Product, Operations, Data, Marketing, Legal
  • In addition to traveling for company/team summits, you will meet in person with strategic Zapier partners at least quarterly, most of whom are located in the San Francisco Bay area.
