Job Summary

Valeo is seeking a System Project Quality Engineer for a new ADx system project in Tokyo. This role involves communicating JOEM feedback to development teams in Germany and France, managing daily and weekly QA meetings with internal teams and OEM customers, overseeing product quality, and handling documentation for APQP/PPAP. Post-launch responsibilities include deploying customer requirements, validating samples, and managing changes. This position offers the chance to experience the full product development lifecycle on a large-scale project.

Must Have

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in electrical/electronic product development projects within the automotive industry
  • Advanced business-level English for communication with teams in Germany and France
  • Business-level Japanese

Good to Have

  • Experience or knowledge in software development
  • Knowledge of ADAS products
  • Experience serving as a point of contact for a Japanese OEM (JOEM)

[Assigned Project]

  • You will be involved in a new project.
  • Product: Entire ADx system.

[Key Responsibilities]

  • You will communicate feedback and requirements from the JOEM to the development teams located in Germany and France.
  • You will also work closely with the internal project team to carry out the following tasks.

① Daily Operations

  • Daily reporting and communication with the direct manager (N+1).
  • Leading and conducting daily project meetings (QRQC) to share delivery-related information.
  • Establishing and facilitating weekly QA meetings between the team and each manufacturing site.
  • Establishing and facilitating weekly QA meetings with OEM customers.
  • Managing product quality and inspection-related events based on delivery checklists for each project phase.
  • Creating and preparing internal and external documentation related to APQP / PPAP requirements.
  • Updating delivery checklists based on issue and defect information, and cascading updates to relevant departments and manufacturing sites.
  • Handling returned parts (investigation and sorting) and reporting investigation results to OEM customers.

② Responsibilities After Mass Production Launch

  • Leading the deployment of customer requirements to manufacturing sites.
  • Following up on initial sample validation within the company.
  • Completing PSW submission and obtaining approval from OEM customers.
  • Managing 4M changes and software changes in collaboration with manufacturing sites, ensuring on-time submission to OEM customers.
  • Providing local support in Japan when software reflash work is required.

[Required Qualifications]

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in electrical/electronic product development projects within the automotive industry.
  • English:Advanced business-level (for communication with teams in Germany and France).
  • Japanese:Business-level

[Preferred Qualifications]

  • Experience or knowledge in software development.
  • Knowledge of ADAS products.
