Weekend Morning Anchor/MMJ

Dominant CBS/ABC combo serving the Tri-Cities, Tennessee and Virginia communities is looking for a Weekend Morning Anchor/MMJ. The successful candidate should have previous news anchoring or reporting experience, excel at breaking news, and be able to enterprise stories. This role involves anchoring weekend morning newscasts and performing multimedia journalist duties three days a week, ensuring all content meets journalistic integrity and production quality standards.

Must Have

• Previous news anchoring or reporting experience (2 years)
• Anchor weekend morning newscasts
• Perform MMJ duties three days a week
• Present news stories and content across all platforms
• Ensure journalistic integrity and production quality
• Write and deliver news stories clearly and concisely
• Work with management to develop stories daily
• Demonstrate compelling storytelling using dynamic live shots, stand-ups, creative graphics, and digital/social media platforms
• Organize material, determine angle or emphasis, and write story according to editorial standards
• Build a network of sources who supply information
• Be a team player and maintain an attitude of cooperation with all station personnel

The successful Weekend Morning Anchor/MMJ candidate should have previous news anchoring or reporting experience. We are looking for someone who can enterprise stories and excels at breaking news. This person will anchor weekend morning newscasts and MMJ three days a week. Must be a team player.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Presents news stories and other content for all platforms.
• Ensures that all news content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
• Writes and delivers news stories in a clear and concise manner.
• Work with management to enterprise and develop stories daily
• Demonstrate compelling storytelling using dynamic live shots and stand-ups, creative graphics, and use of digital and social media platforms
• Organize material, determine angle or emphasis, and write story according to prescribed editorial style and format standards
• Build network of sources who supply information
• Performs special projects and other duties as assigned
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communication/Journalism or related degree required (equivalent years of experience may substitute for education)
• (2) years television anchoring or reporting experience required
• Solid vocal delivery, camera presence, and clear enunciation
• Strong reporting skills
• Understands importance of social media
• Excellent reading, writing, spelling, grammar and organizational skills
• Promotes teamwork and maintains attitude of cooperation with all station personnel
