As the Finance Manager for the integration of Dedrone into Axon Enterprises, you will ensure a smooth financial transition.  Responsibilities include overseeing month-end close processes, cost accounting, variance analysis, and compliance with US GAAP and local standards.  You'll develop analytics, track expenses, and lead ad-hoc projects, collaborating with the German team and global finance.  The role requires strong analytical skills, experience with month-end close activities, and proficiency in US GAAP and local accounting standards. The ideal candidate will drive process improvements, lead the implementation of best practices, and support the company's accelerated growth.

 Your Impact
As the Finance Manager for the integration of Dedrone into Axon Enterprises, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth financial transition and alignment of the two organizations. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and accuracy of our month-end close process, driving improvements that enhance reporting timelines and financial performance. You will oversee cost accounting processes, ensuring accurate valuation and variance analysis, while ensuring compliance with both local and US GAAP standards. Your leadership in developing analytics, tracking expenses, and executing ad-hoc projects will provide essential insights that support our accelerated growth and strategic objectives. By championing best practices and fostering collaboration between the local German team and the global finance structure, you will ensure that our financial integration is seamless, timely, and positioned for long-term success.
What You'll Do
Location: The role is based in Germany and can be remote with flexibility to travel to Kassel during month-end close
Reports to: EMEA Finance Director
<ul>
<li>Support the Financial integration of the Dedrone business into Axon Enterprises.</li>
<li>Support the local team in Germany in executing the month-end close processes, driving improvements in accounting close.</li>
<li>Perform all relevant month-end close activities such as preparing journal entries, ensuring quality account reconciliations, reviewing vendor agreements for accounting assessment, and conducting fluctuation analyses.</li>
<li>Develop and execute monthly analytics to compare budget vs actual to analyze monthly close result</li>
<li>Ensure complete and accurate results are delivered on time for reporting in accordance with both local and US GAAP.</li>
<li>Oversee and manage cost accounting processes, including standard cost development, variance analysis and inventory valuation</li>
<li>Support the consolidation and reporting processes including accounting for the impact of foreign exchange rates and elimination of intercompany balances.</li>
<li>Track and report open purchase orders, monthly, ensuring all period-end expenses are appropriately accrued.</li>
<li>Lead the implementation of best practices on the general ledger team to simplify, standardize and scale our business</li>
<li>Prepare ad hoc analysis and special projects as requested to support accelerated growth.</li>
</ul>
What You Must Have&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Fluency in English &amp; German</li>
<li>7+ years of overall accounting experience within a fast-paced high-growth environment, preferably in public or large pre-IPO companies.</li>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or a related field.</li>
<li>Strong organizational and verbal/written communication skills</li>
<li>Process re-engineering involvement and/or process efficiency focus</li>
<li>Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail a must</li>
<li>Ability to identify and drive process improvement</li>
<li>Excellent time and self-management skills, ability to prioritize and multitask to meet deadlines required</li>
</ul>
Nice to Have&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Big 4 Accounting Experience (Deloitte, PwC, KPMG, EY)&nbsp;</li>
<li>Experience in SOX control documentation/execution</li>
<li>Intermediate/advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large volumes of transactional data</li>
<li>Experience with Salesforce and NetSuite ERP</li>
</ul>
