Motion Graphic Designer

Jacobs is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Motion Designer to join our global moving image / creative solutions team, working across our lines of business to deliver digital and motion-based solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to help us shape the growth of our film and motion capabilities. You will be responsible for collaborating closely with our creative, sales and wider Jacobs team to produce a variety of motion content, including explainer videos, showreels, prototyping, animated presentations, marketing campaigns, brand design, public consultation films, social media content and internal communications. You will also be responsible for developing and preparing style frames, storyboards, proposals, and motion tests. You will need to have a strong understanding of design principles, moving image processes, and storytelling, as well as excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate creative concepts. You will be responsible for converting complex briefs into engaging moving image and adding value by offering innovative creative solutions that provide us with a competitive edge in the marketplace. You will also need to keep up to date with the latest visual trends and developments in motion, design and visual effects. You will be a source of inspiration for the wider creative team, including knowledge sharing and potentially mentoring other members of our creative community.

Responsibilities <ul><li>Strong understanding of design principles, moving image processes, and storytelling.</li><li>Collaborating closely with our creative, sales and wider Jacobs team to produce a variety of motion content, including explainer videos, showreels, prototyping, animated presentations, marketing campaigns, brand design, public consultation films, social media content and internal communications</li><li>Ability to flex between animation, video editing and 3D.</li><li>Development and preparation of style frames, storyboards, proposals, and motion tests.</li><li>Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate creative concepts.</li><li>Converting complex briefs into engaging moving image.</li><li>Adding value by offering innovative creative solutions that provide us with a competitive edge in the marketplace.</li><li>Keep up to date with the latest visual trends and developments in motion, design and visual effects.</li><li>Be a source of inspiration for the wider creative team, including knowledge sharing and potentially mentoring other members of our creative community </li></ul>
Here's what you'll need <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, animation, visual arts, or a related field is highly desirable.</li><li>Previous experience working within an agency/studio environment.</li><li>Knowledge of Unreal Engine.</li><li>Creative, passionate and bundles of enthusiasm</li><li>Great communicator including listening skills.</li><li>3 - 5 years’ experience in a relevant role.</li><li>A proficient working knowledge of Cinema 4D (or similar, but with the ambition to learn C4D)</li><li>Conversant in Adobe CC core software – must have experience of After Effects and/or Premiere.</li><li>Ambition and curiosity to learn the latest cloud-based platforms (Rive, Spline.3d, Unreal Engine etc)</li><li>Must be a competent user of Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.</li><li>Highly organised, self-motivated, and passionate about moving image, design and digital.</li><li>Strong eye for detail and ability to contribute creative ideas.</li><li>Able to work under tight deadlines and to prioritize design focus accordingly.</li><li>Encourages inclusion and diversity in everything we do.</li><li>A collaborator, who puts team success before individual gain. </li></ul>
