A Senior DevOps Engineer is needed in Amsterdam to support a cloud-based livestreaming project for a major American e-commerce company.  Responsibilities include ensuring system availability, performance, security, and scalability; serving as the primary point of contact for service incidents; collaborating with engineering and infrastructure teams on bug fixes, deployments, and scaling for high-traffic events; and providing architectural and process improvement recommendations.  Secondary responsibilities involve creating and maintaining service health dashboards and implementing alarms.  The role requires experience with Java, Go, or C++; building large, scalable distributed systems; event-driven applications; RESTful APIs; and modern DevOps principles.  Experience with GraphQL and web sockets is a plus.

The Senior DevOps Engineer will be responsible for supporting an innovative cloud-based livestreaming project that shapes the future of global e-commerce. Our goal is to ensure scalable, secure, and highly available systems, enabling personalized online shopping experiences, interactive customer engagement, and automated processes to enhance buying satisfaction.
Primary responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Ensuring availability, performance, security, and scalability of production systems.</li>
<li>Serve as primary POC for LiveOps/GCX to address service incidents and troubleshoot/triage as appropriate.</li>
<li>Work with the core engineering team to address bugs and deploy services across different environments.</li>
<li>Collaborate with infrastructure teams to scale for service capacity and traffic spikes of 20x normal load during T1 events.</li>
<li>Provide recommendations for architecture and process improvements.</li>
</ul>
Secondary responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Create and maintain service health dashboards to monitor production systems.</li>
<li>Implement alarms where there are gaps in service health monitoring</li>
</ul>
Requirements:
<ul>
<li>Experience with modern programming languages, e.g. Java, Go, C++</li>
<li>Experience in building large, reliable, scalable distributed systems</li>
<li>Experience with building event-driven applications</li>
<li>Experience with designing and building RESTful APIs</li>
<li>Experience with modern DevOps principles and continuous delivery</li>
<li>Work closely w/ colleagues and customers in different functional groups and remote office</li>
<li>Hands on experience with GraphQL is a big plus</li>
<li>Experience on web socket is a big plus</li>
