Red Rover Interactive is a new game development studio focused on groundbreaking multiplayer survival experiences. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Gameplay Programmer with a strong background in survival game development and multiplayer systems. This role involves designing, implementing, and refining engaging and technically sound gameplay systems, requiring a strong engineering foundation and the ability to rapidly iterate based on feedback and evolving creative goals.

We're on a mission to reimagine the multiplayer gaming landscape, with an emphasis on crafting groundbreaking survival experiences that champion player agency and drama.<h2 class="text-2xl md:text-3xl font-bold mt-10 mb-4 border-b pb-2 text-gray-800">The Role:</h2>We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Gameplay Programmer with a strong background in survival game development and multiplayer systems. You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and refining gameplay systems, ensuring that our mechanics are both engaging and technically sound. This role requires both a strong engineering foundation and the ability to micro-design and iterate rapidly in response to player feedback and evolving creative goals.<ul class="list-disc list-inside my-5 pl-5 space-y-2 text-gray-700"><li class="leading-relaxed">Design, implement, and maintain core gameplay systems for a multiplayer survival game.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Quickly create and iterate on gameplay features and mechanics to explore new ideas.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Develop and optimize networked features, ensuring smooth and consistent multiplayer experiences.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Work closely with designers, artists, and other programmers to bring gameplay ideas to life</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Diagnose and resolve gameplay-related issues, performance bottlenecks, and replication errors.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Write and maintain clean, efficient, and well-documented code for gameplay features.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Implement and refine core gameplay mechanics in line with design specifications.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Optimize gameplay features for better performance and reduced memory usage on target platforms.</li></ul><h2 class="text-2xl md:text-3xl font-bold mt-10 mb-4 border-b pb-2 text-gray-800">We are looking for someone who:</h2><ul class="list-disc list-inside my-5 pl-5 space-y-2 text-gray-700"><li class="leading-relaxed">Proficiency in C++ and/or C# programming languages.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Strong Unreal Engine experience</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Proven experience with Unreal’s Gameplay Ability System</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Deep understanding of replication in Unreal Engine</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Skilled in designing and implementing multiplayer gameplay systems</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Experience with implementing and optimizing gameplay systems and mechanics.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Familiarity with multiplayer and networked game systems.</li></ul><h2 class="text-2xl md:text-3xl font-bold mt-10 mb-4 border-b pb-2 text-gray-800">In addition, we expect you to have:</h2><ul class="list-disc list-inside my-5 pl-5 space-y-2 text-gray-700"><li class="leading-relaxed">Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or a related field, or equivalent experience.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">5+ years of professional experience as a gameplay programmer, preferably on shipped survival or multiplayer titles.</li><li class="leading-relaxed">Strong plus: Plays and understands multiplayer survival games</li></ul><h2 class="text-2xl md:text-3xl font-bold mt-10 mb-4 border-b pb-2 text-gray-800">How We Work:</h2>We strongly believe that our team and culture are integral to building creative and innovative games, to this ends we prioritize an office-first approach with hybrid home working options.
