UI Artist - Designer

UI Director

The UI artist is responsible for creating the game's graphical interfaces. They prioritize user experience and ensure clarity of information through their graphic design skills, solving visual problems and suggesting hypotheses to test them. The UI artist will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to design intuitive game interfaces, create vector icons, concept mockups, cut and integrate mockups into the game, work closely with programmers, and refine and animate interfaces in the engine.

Nous sommes à la recherche d’un.e artiste UI expérimenté.e pour Voidling Bound, un jeu de tir à la 3e personne prenant place dans un univers de science-fiction développé sur Unreal 5. Au cours de son expérience, le joueur est appelé à contrôler, améliorer, évoluer et confectionner des créatures toutes plus uniques les unes que les autres.
Hatchery Games est une équipe de développement de jeux indépendante de neuf personnes situées au cœur du quartier Saint-Roch à Québec. Chaque membre de l’équipe collabore étroitement pour créer la meilleure expérience de jeux possible dans un climat de travail sain et respectueux. Au cœur de notre petite équipe, chaque individu est responsable d’éléments cruciaux au bon fonctionnement du projet. Pour ce faire, chaque employé bénéficie d’une grande liberté pour atteindre les objectifs fixés et est appelé à y arriver de façon autonome.
Chez Hatchery Games, l’artiste UI est le principal responsable de la création des interfaces graphiques de jeu. Il accorde une grande importance à l’expérience de l’usager et s’assure de la clarté des informations affichées par ses compétences en design graphique. Il résout des problèmes visuels et suggère des hypothèses pour ensuite les mettre à l’épreuve.
<h2>Responsabilités</h2>
<ul>
<li>Collaborer avec une équipe multidisciplinaire pour concevoir des interfaces de jeu intuitives.</li>
<li>Assimiler et maîtriser la direction artistique du projet.</li>
<li>Créer des icônes vectorielles selon des gabarits précis.</li>
<li>Créer des maquettes conceptuelles pour illustrer l’apparence visuelle des interfaces utilisateur du jeu.</li>
<li>Découper et intégrer ses propres maquettes dans le jeu.</li>
<li>Travailler étroitement avec les programmeurs pour rendre les interfaces fonctionnelles.</li>
<li>Peaufiner et animer les interfaces dans l’engin.</li>
</ul>
<h2>Qualifications requises</h2>
<ul>
<li>Fort esprit créatif travaillant de façon itérative pour arriver à la meilleure solution.</li>
<li>Excellentes compétences artistiques: de la création de maquettes conceptuelles jusqu’à l’animation et la finalisation des interfaces.</li>
<li>Excellentes capacités de communication visuelle et de design graphique.</li>
<li>Maîtrise de Photoshop, Illustrator et Figma.</li>
<li>Capacité à travailler en étroite collaboration avec les programmeurs et les concepteurs de jeu.</li>
<li>Un fort attrait pour le design et la réalisation d’éléments UI ancrés dans un univers de science-fiction.</li>
<li>Indépendant.e et motivé.e.</li>
</ul>
<h2>Qualifications souhaitées</h2>
<ul>
<li>Expérience avec les outils UMG d’Unreal Engine 5.</li>
<li>3 à 5 ans d’expérience dans l’industrie en tant qu’artiste UI.</li>
<li>Bilingue (français et anglais).</li>
