3D Artist Internship

About the job

i3 is offering a part-time Summer 2024 internship position within our Virtual Training, Simulation, and Gaming business unit. This candidate will be exposed to the development of Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI) within an Agile software development environment. This candidate will interact with Instructional Systems Designers (ISD), 3D Artists, Software Developers, Designers, and Program Managers in support of DOD training development.

This internship will be for the duration of the Summer period. The candidate will work with Agile software development teams in creating IMI for DOD customers.

Education, Experience and Required skills

• High school diploma required
• Candidate must have completed at least 2 years of higher education, job experience can be substituted for education
• Candidate must be currently enrolled in (Summer 2024) or continuing a undergraduate or graduate degree program the following semester (Fall 2024) at the time of the internship.
• Experience with texturing suites (such as Substance Painter, Quixel, etc.)
• Experience with Maya, 3D Studio Max, or equivalent
• Candidate must be a team player and be creative, adaptive, and excited to learn
  
  
  

Preferred Experience/Skills

• Knowledge and/or experience with the game engines (such as Unity, Unreal, CryEngine, etc.)
• Knowledge and/or experience developing hard surface rig setup and animations for game
• Knowledge and/or experience with lighting and scene finishing for game
• Knowledge and/or experience developing and optimizing for mobile devices (iOS, Android, etc.)
• Knowledge and/or experience developing immersive 3D technologies (such as AR/VR)
• Knowledge and/or experience with ZBrush, Mudbox, or equivalent
• Knowledge and/or experience with photo editing software, such as Photoshop, GIMP, etc
