3D Character Modeller

POSITION SUMMARY

Sunrise Animation is pleased to announce the production of DAVID, a major animated feature film that tells the story about one of the most captivating characters in all of human history. Sunrise is looking for Character Modellers to join our growing team. If you've got experience as a 3D character modeller for animated feature films, we’d love to hear from you!

REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Minimum 3 years experience in character modelling, preferably on animated feature films
• Demonstrated ability to translate 2D artwork into 3D models/sculpts
• Collaborate with downstream departments to meet their technical needs.
• Confident sculpting ability in Zbrush
• Proficiency in Maya
• Highly competent in Retopology
• Highly competent in UV unwrapping
• Maintain timing and production quotas given by the coordination team
• Prepare presentation elements for approval
• A keen eye for details
• Ability to work well in a highly collaborative environment
• Ability to receive and address feedback and direction from the Model Supervisor and Art Director

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong anatomy knowledge
• Good problem solving skills
• Can work autonomously in between critiques and reviews
• Portfolio reflects a good balance of hard surface and organic modelling/sculpting.
