Studio Wildcard - Redmond, WA or Remote

3D Hard Surface Artist

We're Studio Wildcard, developers of the smash indie hit ARK: Survival Evolved -- one of the most popular and original video games in recent years. Despite our massive success, we've been able to stay independent so that we can steer our own future in games and beyond. There's never been a better time for you to join this adventure and help us work on ARK: Survival Ascended, the remaster of our original hit franchise, and other projects we have in the works. We're expanding and updating many of the ARK community's most beloved features, while taking full advantage of the latest tools and technologies. Wildcard is searching for an exceptionally talented and passionate 3D Artist who can work with our Level and Props Teams to model, sculpt, texture, and optimize a wide variety of non-organic 3D models for our next generation of Unreal Engine 5-powered titles.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Props and Concept Art Leads, to visually follow a specific artistic vision
  • Create modular building structures using multiple UV channels and trim sheets
  • Importing and implementing the assets in Unreal Engine
  • Texturing assets in the UE Editor

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the video game industry working on hard-surface (non-organic) modeling and texturing for 3D games on PC or consoles
  • Portfolio pieces including visually realistic Sci-Fi props, weapons, armor, vehicles, structures, or modular level pieces
  • Previous work that demonstrates a solid understanding of 3D hard surface modeling, texturing, and physically-based material creation skills using current and next-gen game content development processes, tools, and pipelines
  • Proficient in tools and technologies like zBrush, Substance Suite, UE5’s Material Editor, Max/Blender/Maya, etc

Pluses:

  • Background in Industrial Design/Architecture
  • Multiple credited film or shipped game titles
  • Marvelous Designer or Houdini skills
  • Familiarity with ARK: Survival Evolved

Pay Transparency Information

The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position vary based on a variety of factors, which include: (but aren't limited to) skills, competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. Each pay range is only relevant to those residing in WA state and can vary based on geographical location.
