Canva is seeking an Account Executive for Government & Healthcare to redefine how the world experiences design. This role involves owning the Public Sector & Healthcare lifecycle, including strategy, planning, execution, and results, in collaboration with a Customer Success Manager to drive user growth. You will foster relationships within accounts, onboard clients, and provide strategic sales support for successful Canva deployment across multiple departments. Key responsibilities include managing a predictable business, understanding the Canva user lifecycle, identifying trends through data analysis, and driving retention and engagement by iterating on lifecycle strategies. The ideal candidate will have experience in the Government and/or Healthcare Market, sales expertise in government software solutions, excellent collaboration and communication skills, experience implementing new technologies, strong business planning abilities, and community management experience.

Where and how you can work

Our flagship office is in Sydney, Australia, but we've made our way from down under, to hubs in Austin and San Francisco, which are now home to our US operations. So whether you're in Texas or California, you have choice in where and how you work in each of those states. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home or a bit of both, it's up to you.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Own the Public Sector & Healthcare lifecycle. You'll own strategy, planning, execution, and results within identified governments and healthcare institutions alongside a Customer Success Manager to drive additional MAU growth.
  • Foster relationships within your account. You'll onboard accounts and provide strategic sales support to ensure a successful deployment of Canva across multiple departments and cross-functional implementations
  • Focus on the Public Sector & Healthcare community. You'll run a healthy and predictable business that delivers a jointly agreed customer transformation strategy
  • Understand the Canva user lifecycle. You'll establish close relationships with our passionate community of Public Sector & Healthcare users to know first-hand what they need to become successful Canva users.
  • Identify trends and usage patterns. You'll utilize data analysis to inform future product and marketing plans.
  • Drive retention and engagement. You'll continuously test, learn, and iterate on our lifecycle strategy at our identified customers to build meaningful and impactful relationships.

You're probably a match if

  • Experience with the Government and/or Healthcare Market. You understand Public Sector efficiency solutions and are able to communicate with government systems on how Canva can improve visual design literacy
  • Sales Expertise. You are comfortable selling government software solutions combined with real-world experience in design in order to drive MAU growth across these organizations
  • Excellent Collaboration skills. You enjoy working alongside your direct team as well as with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with Implementing new Technologies. You have a deep understanding of how government institutions roll-out new technology and the ways institution-wide deployments operate.
  • Effective Communication skills. You create clarity through your communication by making complex things simple. You can confidently present your ideas and tell a compelling story to customers and the broader team.
  • Strong Business Planning Skills. You have the ability to move from planning all the way through to implementation and complete projects that deliver high impact.
  • Experience in Community Management. You understand social media standard processes and tactics for educating audiences.
  • Growth Mindset. You're eager to learn and develop your skills whilst having fun along the way!


About the team

At Canva, our Public Sector Sales team is dedicated to supporting any team or organization that has a need to design at scale. We have seen success across different types of companies, including those in Education Institutions, Governments, Not-for-Profits, and others. Teams within organizations that enjoy Canva for Enterprise come from diverse departments such as Communications, Marketing, Sales, and HR. The core focus of our team is to prove the power of Canva within these public sector entities. Institutions are looking to move away from outdated systems and time-consuming design processes, and we aim to serve by empowering them with the ability to build better products and stories.

Our Account Executives work closely with our customers to understand their specific goals and objectives and provide tailored solutions to meet their needs. Whether it's creating beautiful infographics to help communicate externally with your customers or better understand complex concepts or developing engaging social media content, our team has the expertise to help our customers succeed.
