Job Description

As an Accountant, you will be responsible for performing day-to-day tasks like invoice issuing, processing, and other required tasks. You will be responsible for general ledger duties using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, including postings, reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments. You will also ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Additionally, you will assist in the monthly closing process and the preparation of financial statements. You will be the primary contact for finance-related matters in the Graz operations. Other responsibilities include overseeing the external audit process, managing the relationship with external auditors, preparing and submitting monthly VAT returns and annual tax returns, reconciling intercompany transactions and balances, driving innovation in work processes, implementing improvements, and maintaining regular communication with team members and other internal stakeholders.
Must have:
  • Degree in finance, accounting, or related field
  • Knowledge of Austrian GAAP
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with strong financial modeling
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to perform quality work within deadlines

Responsibilities:

  • Perform day to day tasks such as invoice issuing to customers, invoice processing and other required tasks
  • General ledger duties (currently) using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (postings, reconciliations, accruals & prepayments, invoices)
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
  • Assist in the monthly closing process and in the preparation of the financial statements
  • Be the main point of contact for finance items related to the Graz operations
  • Oversee the external audit process and manage the relationship with external auditors
  • Prepare and submit of the monthly VAT returns and annual tax returns
  • Reconcile intercompany transactions and balances
  • Drive innovation in the work processes, implementing improvements as necessary
  • Maintain regular communication with team members, with members within the finance team and other internal members across different departments
  • Maintain a comprehensive commercial understanding of the third party providers contracts

Requirements

About you:

  • Degree or equivalent in finance, accounting, economics, statistics, business analysis, or a related field
  • Knowledge of Austrian GAAP
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel with strong financial modelling including advanced functions and pivot tables
  • An inquisitive mind
  • A self-starter
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
  • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organisations
