Accountant- Financial Operations

At Devoted Studios, we are a codev studio specializing in production management and external development for video games. Our goal is to create conditions and tools to empower decentralized game production and provide a level playing field for global talent to contribute to their dream game projects. Our role involves not only matching them with project opportunities but also overseeing the entire production process from start to finish.

*This is a remote, full-time contracted position and we are hiring in Europe!*

We are looking for an attentive to details and responsible Accountant, Financial Controller to become a part of our finance team. Someone who is extremely passionate about accounting and google sheets, and further professional development in this sphere. Does it resonate with you? If so, please apply.

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting roles, with at least 2 years at an international company as an Accountant or with a "Big4" firm as an auditor.
• Basic knowledge of UA GAAP or IFRS accounting and reporting standards
• Ability to be attentive, responsible and scrupulous
• Good accounting skills
• Basic knowledge of MS Office Excel or Google Sheets
• Higher education (degree in Accounting, Finance)
• Intermediate level of English.

Responsibilities:

1. Create and manage supplier invoices

• Verify time reports, acceptance of services, and calculate the amount payable (due) to suppliers based on accepted time reports, signed vendor agreements and SOWs.
• Verify the accuracy of supplier invoices.
• Respond to supplier inquiries with regards to expected payment dates, contract terms, and amounts paid (or to be paid).
• Create bills in the accounting system and JIRA (project management system)

2. Create and manage customer invoices

• Create invoices in the accounting system and JIRA (project management system), specify the amounts by milestones (contract performance obligations), payment terms.
• Collect data about planned project completion dates and stage of project completion.
• Update planned invoice dates in the accounting system and JIRA, as necessary.
• Send invoices to customers.
• Support Senior Accountant in debt collection management, preparing accounts receivable aging reports, participation in customer communication on overdue invoices

3. Budget control:

• Perform budget controls through the approval workflow in JIRA and budget models
• Update management reporting and budget spreadsheets (as assigned).

4. Payroll:

• Verify the time logs of internal employees and contractors. Account for deductions and reimbursements.
• Calculate gross salary by employees, contractors, and make salary accruals to QuickBooks. Perform internal controls over the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of payroll accruals and payments.
• Create bills for contractors’ compensation at Bill.com
• Process payments to employees, contractors, as instructed by the Senior Accountant.
• Process payments to health insurance benefits providers, as instructed by the Senior Accountant.

5. Bookkeeping

• Collect and verify primary accounting documentation for tax and compliance purposes.
• Perform bank and credit card transactions reconciliation and posting related accounting entries to QuickBooks, as instructed by the Senior Accountant.
• Post other basic accounting transactions to QuickBooks, as instructed by the Senior Accountant.
