Job Summary

The ADSEO LI (Linguistics Intelligence) PQA – Project Quality Assurance role at ByteDance's Trust & Safety team focuses on maintaining a safe online community. Job Description

Responsibilities
Our Trust & Safety team’s commitment is to keep our online community safe. We have invested heavily in human and machine-based moderation to remove harmful content quickly and often before it reaches our general community. The Linguistic Intelligence team supports AI language model development with high-quality data annotations in collaboration with our vendor partners. By using our model, we automatically capture speech that violates the TikTok safety policy, and we ensure that TikTok’s excellence shines in all languages and regions of the world. Responsibilities: • Design onboarding & training for internal/BPO teams • Coordinate with stakeholders across projects • Lead policy knowledge transfers to ensure consistency • Maintain and update QA policy documentation • Build quality assurance strategies per project • Track and analyze daily quality metrics • Perform RCA (Root Cause Analysis) on data errors • Communicate cross-functionally to resolve bottlenecks • Conduct risk assessments (quality, timelines, etc.) • Support QA projects: labeling policy optimization, sampling, appeals, process refinement • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: • Minimum of 1–2 years of work experience in a Quality Assurance/Analyst/Project Management role. • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating adaptability to daily challenges and ambiguity. • Strong attention to detail with the capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. • Experience in Content Moderation/Content Quality/Content Safety/Labeling is advantageous. • Fluency in English is required for communication with English markets; proficiency in Japanese is also required. • Proficiency in Excel and spreadsheet-based applications is required. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in linguistics or language-based roles is desirable. • Experience with SQL, Python, and other database languages preferred. • Familiarity with AI projects such as AI Chat Bots, Automated Speech Recognition, AI Customer Service, and Translations is a plus. • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and willingness to adapt to day-to-day challenges of the role. • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
