Advanced Procurement Engineer

Act as a bridge between R&D, Engineering, and Procurement, ensuring that cost, quality, and supply chain considerations are integrated from the early design phases

Develop and implement Design-to-Cost (DTC) strategies for assigned material groups

Challenge design choices to find cost-effective alternatives without compromising performance, safety, or quality.

Identify, evaluate, and qualify global and local suppliers based on technical capabilities, cost-effectiveness, and reliability

Utilize data-driven procurement methods (e.g., Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), should-cost analysis)

Lead workshops with suppliers to explore cost-saving opportunities and innovative solutions

Ensure supplier alignment with design, prototyping, and manufacturing requirements

Monitor and mitigate risks in the supply chain, including supply disruptions, geopolitical risks, and raw material shortages

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or similar

3+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management in a manufacturing environment

Proven track record of leading successful Design-to-Cost in a complex design or manufacturing environment

Experience in industries such as electronics, automotive, aerospace, or industrial manufacturing

Problem-solving mindset with an ability to drive cost savings and efficiency improvements

Ability to negotiate favorable terms while maintaining strong supplier relationships

Excellent communication and teamwork skills 

Proficiency in ERP and project management software (e.g., SAP, MS Project, or similar)

Fluency in English and German – any additional languages are a plus

Willingness to travel for supplier audits, negotiations, and industry conferences
