As an Advisor in Data Science and Analytics, you will serve as a subject matter expert, leading the development of technical solutions and driving new business initiatives. You will act as a primary contact for strategic clients, identifying opportunities for analytic products and services. You will deliver insights and recommendations, provide support in developing analytic solutions, and lead research and innovation initiatives. You will also represent TransUnion at industry events, mentor junior team members, and foster a high-performance culture. This role requires strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills to translate technical concepts into actionable recommendations.
Must have:
  • Master’s or PhD in statistics or related field
  • Minimum 5 years in analytics
  • Advanced programming skills in R or Python
  • Experience leading complex analytics projects
  • Strong project and time management skills

What You'll Bring:

  • Master’s or PhD in statistics, applied math, financial math, computer science, or a related quantitative field; or a Bachelor’s with 3+ years of relevant experience and demonstrate a consistent track record of academic excellence.
  • Minimum 10 years supporting internal/external clients, with at least 5 years in analytics, preferably in industries of Financial Services, Insurance, Fraud or Digital Marketing.
  • Proven analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.
  • Advanced programming skills and aptitude; mastery with statistical programs such as R or Python.
  • Experience of leading complex analytics projects with minimal supervision, collaborating across teams and directly with clients.
  • Strong project and time management skills to lead multiple complex portfolios and work streams in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent business acumen and communication skills, including the ability to present and translate technical concepts into actionable recommendations to multiple levels, including executive audiences
  • Occasional travel required.

Impact You'll Make:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on cross-functional teams internally and externally, driving new business initiatives and delivering long-term, value-added solutions to TransUnion customers.
  • Lead the development of technical solutions to complex problems with minimal supervision.
  • Act as the primary contact for strategic clients, identifying opportunities to test and adopt analytic products and services. Frequent direct engagement with client or TransUnion executives would be expected.
  • Deliver analytic insights and recommendations in succinct and compelling presentations for internal and external customers representing a wide range of backgrounds and levels.
  • Provide both oversight and hands-on support in developing analytic solutions using tools like R, Python, SQL, Hive, and Spark, while formalizing repeatable processes.
  • Lead research and innovation initiatives, including multi-team projects in collaboration with peers across the team.
  • Represent TransUnion at industry events, seminars, and summits, or advisory boards, attend independently sponsored conferences and tradeshows on behalf of TransUnion.
  • Mentor and train junior team members, fostering a high-performance culture aligned with TransUnion’s values.
