Job Description

Develop animation programs for games, focusing on dynamic control (IK, full-body IK). Requires experience in game development (console or 3D PC games) and proficiency in mathematics/physics, game animation, and animation engine middleware. New graduates are considered, but experience is preferred. Responsibilities include creating and implementing animation programs. Candidates should submit a resume, CV detailing game involvement, programming languages, software proficiency, technical studies, a favorite game, and work samples (including code, video, and readme).

Duties

  • Developing programs in relation to animation
  • Creating dynamic animation control program such as IK or full-body IK

Requirements

  • Experience with 1 or more successful game development
  • Experience in developing non-portable consumer game consoles or 3D PC games
  • Have knowledge or experience in 2 or more of the following:
  • Thorough knowledge of mathematics/physics
  • Thorough knowledge of animation in relation to games
  • Experience using animation engine middleware

    • List any and all games that you have been involved with, as well as your specific role/responsibilities in detail.
    • List any and all programming languages you are familiar with and years of experience with each language, as well as any production details you would like to highlight.
    • List any and all software programs (Photoshop, Maya, Eclipse, etc.) you are familiar with and years of experience with each software, as well as any production details you would like to highlight.
    • Pick 2 recent technical studies or related articles you have seen that you felt were technologically advanced and/or meaningful, and briefly state your reasonings.
    • Pick 1 game you have recently played that captured your interest—technologically speaking—and briefly state your reasonings.

Work Samples

*New graduates and those who are new to the industry must turn in sample work. Anyone else who would like to share their work may also send in samples.

  • An original programming work (will accept team projects). No restriction on type or number of work(s). Please send us anything that you feel would showcase your abilities.

Please include the following:

  • An execution file of the build
  • A video capture of the screen (because there is a chance the video won’t operate depending on the environment)
  • A “readme.txt” file explaining the following information regarding the program you have sent:
  • Execution method including the execution environment
  • The areas you struggled with while creating the program
  • An area you especially put effort into and would like us to focus on
  • If there were any source files you used for reference, what areas did you pull for reference? Please note the file name(s) for those area(s).

*Warning:

  • If you used a library, functions, etc. that were created by other people, please separate those parts into a different file and list those file names.

The same applies for the following cases:

  • If you used functions created by someone else
  • If you have a reference source and more than half of the original source is still in the program
  • If you used a free library (Please note the library name)
  • If you used a library created by someone else (Please note the library name)
