Job Description

Frontier is seeking an experienced Animator to join their team in Cambridge, UK. You'll be responsible for creating high-quality animation for their games, collaborating with other departments, and implementing animation into their proprietary engine. Must-have skills include professional experience as a games animator, a strong animation showreel, and proficiency in a 3D animation package.

This role can be on a hybrid working basis, which means you’ll have the opportunity to spend time working both in the studio and at home. We can provide a comprehensive relocation support package as part of any offer, should you need to relocate.

WHAT'S THE ROLE?

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Animator to join our world-class Animation team. Our catalogue of games covers a varied and eclectic range of animation styles. We take pride in great character animation, ranging from heavily stylised to realistic behaviours across both cinematic sequences and real-time motion. 

Animation is always a strong focal point in our games. We need passionate games animators to help us push the boundaries of what’s possible in games animation.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Taking direction from the lead animator to create animation that is consistent with the game's visual design
Implementing animation into the game using our in-house proprietary games engine
Collaborating with other departments such as Character Art, Code, Design or VFX to achieve the highest possible in-game quality

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

Experience working as a professional games animator
An animation showreel that demonstrates an excellent understanding of animation principals across humanoid and bipedal/quadrupedal creatures
A confident and creative approach to your animation, able to make interesting acting choices and execute them effectively
An eye for animation principals and detail, helping to bring smooth, dynamic and reactive animations to our game
A willingness to confidently take on feedback from your peers to develop yourself as an animator
Professional experience using a 3d animation package (Maya, 3ds max, Blender, XSI etc.)
