Now, leading edge 5G Advance and 6G research and reference platform implementation are some of the key focus areas.  Qualcomm Antenna Hardware Engineer plan, design, develop, optimize, verify, and test practical antenna hardware systems for future generation of IoT/XR devices, smartphones, embedded modems, NTN systems, and other fixed wireless access devices.  Perform tradeoff analysis and feasibility study for new antenna/RF architectures that lead to performance improvement, size reduction and lower cost. Support technology development of next generation antenna applications in the areas of WWAN, WLAN, WPAN, Position Location, SATCOM and Automotive.

  Minimum Education Requirements:

  Master's or PhD's degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in Antennas, Microwave and Electromagnetics.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  •    Experience in antenna design and prototype.

  •    Experience in network analyzer and antenna measurements.
  •    Knowledge of various cellular standards.

  •    Experience in AutoCAD or ProE.

  •    Experience with hardware design and measurement instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF design tools, etc.

  Skills/Experience:

  - Strong knowledge of electromagnetic theory with application in antenna, RF/Microwave circuit and network theory.

  - Good understanding of standard antenna types (such as dipole, monopole, loop, horn, patch for broadband and multiband), and antenna array theory.

  - Have design experience with antennas used in base station, cell phone and wearable devices such as PIFA/WIFA, folded monopole and loop.

  - Working knowledge of commercial EM simulation software such as HFSS, CST or FEKO, and circuit analysis software such as ADS or Eagleware.

  - Knowledge of pertinent radiated and antenna performance parameters and methods to characterize them. Familiar with OTA performance testing.
   

  Level of Responsibility:

  •    Works independently with minimal supervision.

  •    Decision-making may affect work beyond immediate work group.

  •    Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information. May require basic negotiation, influence, tact, etc. 

  •    Tasks require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; some planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$111,300.00 - $166,900.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted.
