As an Apparel Designer, BR, enthusiasm, creativity, and the right mindset will be just as important as technical expertise. You'll be instrumental in designing and developing apparel collections that resonate with our gaming community and fashion-forward audiences. You'll partner on global-scale projects with top-tier partners in anime, gaming, and entertainment, ensuring that our merchandise reflects the passion and style of our fans.
Location: São Paulo or Remote, Brazil
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Creative Design & Concepting
- Develop seasonal and capsule collection concepts that align with Team Liquid’s brand and audience.
- Create compelling mood boards, inspiration decks, color palettes, and fabric stories.
- Design apparel pieces across various categories, including outerwear, knitwear, bottoms, tops, and accessories, focusing on fashion-forward silhouettes and premium detailing.
- Translate creative direction and franchise themes into tangible garment designs.
- Iterate on designs based on feedback, licensor requirements, or production constraints.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market players' offerings, and emerging fan culture to inform your design perspective.
- Patternmaking & Technical Development
- Draft initial patterns for new silhouettes and revise existing patterns to meet fit and style goals.
- Review, annotate, and update tech packs with detailed construction notes and graded measurements.
- Manage the development calendar from prototype to final sample, coordinating with factories.
- Conduct fit sessions and communicate necessary adjustments to maintain design integrity and fit consistency.
- Troubleshoot fabric behavior, construction techniques, and print/wash applications to ensure optimal results at scale.
- Maintain and organize a library of approved patterns, fit blocks, trims, and fabric swatches.
What You’ll Need:
- Ideally, 4–6+ years of experience in apparel design, with comprehensive involvement in the development cycle from concept to production.
- Strong patternmaking skills (manual or digital) with a keen eye for fit, proportion, and movement.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; experience in creating tech packs and garment specifications.
- Deep familiarity with garment construction techniques, fabric properties, trims, and fit standards across various apparel categories.
- Experience working with overseas factories and managing sample timelines.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively with internal teams, licensors, and vendors.
- Ability to manage complex projects across multiple creative properties while maintaining creative consistency.
- Experience designing cut-and-sew items, outerwear, and specialty pieces (e.g., bomber jackets, varsity jackets, windbreakers).
- Strong knowledge of garment costing, minimum order quantities, and retail price-to-margin dynamics.
- A genuine passion for gaming, anime, or pop culture, with the ability to translate fandom into fashion.
- Fluent in English.
You'll Earn Bonus Points If You Have:
- A background in designing high-end or cut-and-sew outerwear.
- A familiarity with esports or gaming community aesthetics.
- Experience with embroidery, custom trims, or complex garment construction methods.
- Previous collaborations with franchise partners or licensors.
- Familiarity with 3D design tools (CLO, Browzwear).
This is a temporary position with a PJ (Pessoa Jurídica) type of contract lasting 6 months.
