The Area Mech Painter II is more than just a modern artist. The Area Mech Painter II is responsible for keeping our parks and resorts looking perfect so Guests get the full enjoyment of our Parks and Resorts. Safety is also front-and-center. This is a field service position that may include work from elevated platforms and confined spaces throughout the Walt Disney World Parks and Resort property.

The pay rate for this role in Florida is $21.50 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled, corrective and planned work
  • Repair and maintain areas where refinishing/finishing might be required
  • Will work from and utilize aerial platform equipment
  • Cast members may be required to handle cleaning chemicals and supplies

Basic Qualifications:

  • Valid Florida drivers’ license
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in painting trade
  • Experienced in the following areas
    • Wall papering, general painting, aging, graining, epoxy, direct rust primers, airbrushing, and automotive finishing Experience replacing ceiling tile and grid work
  • Ability to obtain a high reach and forklift license
  • Experience reading and interpreting material takeoffs, layouts and directions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in standard office software programs and mobile electronic devices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in fiberglass repair, bondo or modeling work
  • Multi-year journeyman painter
