Job Description

Pingle Studio is seeking a proactive and creative Art Director to join their team. The Art Director will be responsible for developing and implementing the creative vision for game projects, ensuring visual style and content quality. This includes creating visual strategies, communicating with stakeholders, estimating projects, leading and mentoring art teams, and maintaining art department processes. The role requires collaboration with other departments, planning and distributing assignments, hiring and developing the art team, and providing feedback to ensure consistency and excellence in art assets. The Art Director will also stay up-to-date with industry trends to push the boundaries of game art and design.
Must have:
  • Experience as Art Director or Lead Artist.
  • Strong portfolio of artistic skills (2D/3D, illustration, concept art).
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Understanding of visual storytelling and art fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software.
  • Strong communication skills in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent communication in English.

Pingle Studio invites a proactive and creative Art Director to join our talented team.

Pingle Game Studio is a team of professional game developers with over 17 years of industry experience. We aim to reach and maintain a leading position among video game developers worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Develop and implement the creative vision for game projects, ensuring visual style and content quality;
  • Create the visual strategy and approach for creatives;
  • Communicate with project stakeholders (external partners);
  • Estimate incoming art projects (requests);
  • Lead, mentor, and coordinate a team of artists and meet quality standards;
  • Set up, modify, and maintain processes within the art department;
  • Collaborate with other departments (game designers, developers, producers);
  • Plan and distribute assignments for the art department;
  • Hire and develop the art team;
  • Write and maintain documentation: processes and art guides for various teams;
  • Provide feedback and guidance to ensure consistency and excellence in all art assets, from concept to final implementation;
  • Maintain a cohesive visual style while optimizing workflows and improving production pipelines;
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and tools to push the boundaries of game art and design.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Art Director or Lead Artist in the gaming industry;
  • Strong portfolio showcasing diverse artistic skills, including 2D/3D, illustration, and concept art;
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with experience managing multidisciplinary art teams;
  • Deep understanding of visual storytelling, art fundamentals (composition, color theory, anatomy), and game production pipelines;
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software (Maya, 3ds Max, Photoshop, ZBrush, etc.);
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey creative concepts and ideas to cross-functional teams;
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities and tight deadlines;
  • Fluent communication in English, both written and spoken.
