DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Establishes artistic vision for products across the studio.
Creates artistic concepts, designs and/or technologies and may work on projects that span several products.
Develops and validates quality assurance protocols for artwork.
Reviews and approves artists’ work.
Works with other art department leaders to develop delegated art approval processes.
Provides input to other departments in the direction of the development or enhancement of technical art production tools and pipelines.
Provides expert artistic and technical leadership in their area of expertise to other members of the art department.
Facilitates art related communication with NCL’s Art team to ensure alignment between the NST and NCL art teams.
Manages direct reports within the Art Department and mentors junior staff members.
Applies professional expertise to review, analyze and test products under development as a contributing member of a production team to ensure delivery of Nintendo’s high standard of quality and timeliness.
SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of fifteen (15) years of digital art experience and three (3) years of management experience.
Previous experience having shipped 2 or more games as an Art Director.
Excellent graphic design skill in 3D/2D art production.
Strong communication skills to effectively communicate art techniques to other members of the team.
Experienced with game development pipelines and game engines (E.g., Unreal, Unity or a proprietary engine).
Proven proficiency with commercial 2D/3D art production software (E.g., Photoshop, Maya, Zbrush, Substance Painter, Substance Designer etc.)
Undergraduate degree in art or related field; or equivalent education and experience.

This position is hybrid in Redmond, WA. Hybrid positions require regular onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division. This position is not open to fully remote status at this time.
This position includes a base salary range of $149,661 - $224,491 annually, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
