Job Description

We are looking for a talented Procedural Technical Artist to join our production team and work on an exciting new IP. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Level Art Team, Content Technical Directors, Technical Artists, and Art Direction to craft inviting, high-quality worlds using procedural techniques. You’ll play a critical part in shaping the visual quality of our game by developing procedural systems and tools to streamline the creation of dynamic, immersive environments. This position requires a balance of creativity and technical expertise to push the boundaries of what’s possible in Unreal Engine 5.
Must have:
  • 3+ years of experience as Technical Artist
  • Experience with Unreal 5 game engine, Unreal PCG Framework
  • Experience working with UE Blueprints building tools for Artists
  • Good knowledge and experience with relevant content creation tools (Maya, 3dsMax, Houdini, etc)
  • Familiar with artists workflows and processes
  • Strong video game technical knowledge (performance, memory, streaming, debugging)
  • Autonomous, enthusiasm and initiative
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
Good to have:
  • Knowledge of Python, C++, or other scripting languages for tool development.
  • Proficient with SideFX Houdini.
  • Experience with additional software, such as Adobe Substance, ZBrush, Speed Tree, Gaea for asset creation.

Artiste technique Procédural

Nous recherchons un artiste technique procédural talentueux pour rejoindre notre équipe de production et travailler sur une nouvelle IP passionnante.Dans ce rôle, vous collaborerez étroitement avec l'équipe Level Art, les directeurs techniques du contenu, les artistes techniques et la direction artistique pour créer des mondes invitants et de haute qualité en utilisant des techniques procédurales. Vous jouerez un rôle essentiel dans l'élaboration de la qualité visuelle de notre jeu en développant des systèmes et des outils procéduraux pour rationaliser la création d'environnements dynamiques et immersifs. Ce poste requiert un équilibre entre créativité et expertise technique afin de repousser les limites de ce qui est possible dans Unreal Engine 5.

Responsabilités:

  • Développer, mettre en œuvre et maintenir des outils de création d'actifs procéduraux dans Unreal Engine 5.
  • Accélérer la construction de mondes virtuels en utilisant le procédural comme outil.
  • Collaborer étroitement avec les artistes de l'environnement, les concepteurs de niveaux et d'autres artistes techniques pour définir et optimiser les pipelines.
  • Participer à la recherche artistique pour identifier, définir et construire les solutions.
  • S'assurer que les solutions correspondent à notre vision / objectifs créatifs, techniques et de production.
  • Dépanner, déboguer, profiler et optimiser le contenu afin d'assurer une haute performance sur diverses plates-formes.
  • Participer à l'élaboration des scripts, des plans et de la documentation technique d'Unreal Engine 5 afin de soutenir les flux de travail de l'équipe.
  • Communiquer avec les équipes de création de contenu et la direction créative pour proposer des idées et des solutions.

Qualifications

  • Au moins 3 ans d'expérience en tant qu'artiste technique dans l'industrie du jeu vidéo.
  • Expérience avec le moteur de jeu Unreal 5, Unreal PCG Framework ou ouvert à l'apprentissage.
  • Expérience de travail avec les outils de construction d'UE Blueprints pour les artistes.
  • Bonne connaissance et expérience des outils de création de contenu (Maya, 3dsMax, Houdini, etc).
  • Familiarité avec les flux de travail et les processus des artistes.
  • Solides connaissances techniques des jeux vidéo (performance, mémoire, streaming, débogage).
  • Autonomie, enthousiasme et esprit d'initiative.
  • Solides compétences en matière de collaboration et de communication.

Expérience souhaitée

  • Connaissance de Python, C++ ou d'autres langages de script pour le développement d'outils.
  • Maîtrise de SideFX Houdini.
  • Expérience avec d'autres logiciels, comme Adobe Substance, ZBrush, Speed Tree, Gaea pour la création d'actifs.

Our brand-new studio, located in the vibrant Mile-Ex district of Montreal, is dedicated to delivering the best gaming experiences for international markets. NetEase Games Montreal is currently focused on games for PC and consoles.

Your role:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain procedural asset creation tools in Unreal Engine 5.
  • Accelerate the building of virtual worlds using proceduralism as your tool
  • Collaborate closely with environment artists, level designers, and other technical artists to define and optimize pipelines.
  • Participate in the art research to identify, define and build the solutions.
  • Ensure that the solutions fit with our creative, production and technical vision / targets.
  • Troubleshoot, Debug, profile, and optimize content to ensure high performance on various platforms.
  • Assist with Unreal Engine 5 scripting, blueprinting, and technical documentation to support team workflows.
  • Communicate with content creation teams and creative direction to propose ideas, solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Has at least 3+ years of experience as Technical Artist in the video game industry.
  • Has experience with Unreal 5 game engine, Unreal PCG Framework or is open to learn it.
  • Experience working with UE Blueprints building tools for Artists.
  • Has good knowledge and experience with relevant content creation tools (Maya, 3dsMax, Houdini, etc).
