Associate QA Tester- Entry Level (Remote)

Role Overview

We are in the early stages of seeking an entry-level Associate QA Tester to join our Quality Assurance team. The ideal candidate will assist in executing test cases, reporting bugs, and ensuring the overall quality of our products. This role is perfect for individuals looking to start their career in game testing and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

• Test Execution:
  • Execute manual test cases to verify game functionality and performance.
• Bug Reporting:
  • Identify, log, and track defects in the bug tracking system.
  • Ensure detailed and accurate documentation of issues.
• Collaboration:
  • Work closely with developers to reproduce and resolve issues.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Documentation:
  • Assist in updating test cases based on changes in requirements or functionality.
  • Ensure all test cases are maintained and relevant.
• Regression Testing:
  • Perform regression testing to ensure that resolved bugs do not reoccur and that new features do not introduce new issues.
• Feedback:
  • Provide feedback on gameplay, balance, and usability during testing.
  • Contribute to discussions on improving the player experience.

Requirements

• Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Additional coursework in Computer Science, Game Development, or related field is a plus.
• Experience:
  • No prior professional experience required.
  • Any experience in software or game testing (e.g., internships, volunteer work) is a plus.
• Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify subtle issues.
  • Proficiency in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive bug reports.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Technical Knowledge:
  • Basic understanding of software testing principles.
  • Familiarity with recent video game consoles (e.g., PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X) and their testing tools is advantageous.
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Capable of understanding team requests and translating them into actionable items.
