Job Description

As an Associate Software Engineer I at Anthology, you will design and implement solutions for the team's application area, taking ownership of production environments. Responsibilities include resolving production issues, ensuring effective team communication, identifying communication problems, and applying new system design knowledge. You'll work with Microsoft technologies (C#, ASP.Net), .NET/.NET Core, MVC, Web API, CSS, JavaScript, UI frameworks (Angular, React), SQL Server, unit testing frameworks (MS Unit, QUnit), and Git. Agile development using Azure DevOps or similar tools is expected. Strong analytical, problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills are essential for this role.

Primary responsibilities will include: 

  • Designing and implementing solutions for the area of the application owned by the team
  • Taking ownership of the team’s product areas running in production
  • Learning and applying new system design responsibilities
  • Resolving production issues and defects for solutions owned by the team
  • Ensuring proper team and inter-team communication practices
  • Identifying issues with internal team communication practices

 

The Candidate:

Required skills/qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or relevant field
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Technical exposure to Microsoft technologies (C#, ASP.Net) with experience in web-based application development
  • Experience with .NET/.NET Core, MVC, Web API
  • Experience with CSS, JavaScript, and one or more UI frameworks (Angular, React, etc.)
  • Experience with database systems (SQL Server)
  • Exposure to unit testing frameworks (MS Unit and QUnit testing)
  • Exposure to version control systems like Git
  • Familiarity with Agile development tools such as Azure DevOps or equivalent
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Debugging and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment, comfortable with direct communication with all levels of technical and business resources
  • Fluency in written and spoken English

 

Preferred skills/qualifications:

  • Experience with Azure cloud platforms
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines
