Job Description

Tesla's Athens, Greece office seeks an Associate Testing Engineer for dynamometer testing and modeling validation of electric motors and actuators. Responsibilities include developing and enhancing motor characterization dyno tests to derive model parameters and loss maps; performing dyno tests to evaluate new materials' impact on performance and efficiency; writing measurement sequence and simulation code; comparing simulation results with experimental data; and archiving results in databases. The ideal candidate possesses a strong electrical engineering background, excellent mathematical and physics skills, and experience in high-accuracy measurements using equipment like power analyzers and oscilloscopes. Proficiency in MATLAB and dynamometer/Veristand experience are essential. Experience in advanced electromagnetics modeling, laboratory management, or power electronics board realization is a plus.

What to Expect

Tesla is seeking a testing engineer with electrical engineering background, modeling and measuring electric motor and actuator problems. This person will be working as part of the Tesla motor technology team located in Athens, Greece, towards improving motor modeling accuracy, developing test plans and performing measurements in the dyno lab.

Η ομάδα Σχεδιασμού Ηλεκτρικών Μηχανών της Tesla αναζητά Ηλεκτρολόγο Μηχανικό Μετρήσεων για μοντελοποίηση και μετρήσεις στο πεδίο των ηλεκτρικών μηχανών. Ο/Η υποψήφιος/α θα είναι μέρος της ομάδας Τεχνολογίας Ηλεκτρικών Μηχανών στην Αθήνα, και θα συνεισφέρει στη βελτίωση της ακρίβειας μοντελοποίησης, την ανάπτυξη σχεδίων μετρήσεως και την εκτέλεση μετρήσεων στο δυναμόμετρο.

What You’ll Do

Develop new and enhance existing motor characterization dyno tests to derive motor equivalent model parameters, loss maps to train the model
Perform dyno characterization tests to evaluate the impact of new materials in motor/system performance and efficiency.
Write measurement sequence code
Write simulation code for testing modeling functions in an isolated way for comparison with experimental results
Archive experimental results to respective databases

Μετρήσεις χαρακτηρισμού για τον προσδιορισμό της επίδρασης νέων υλικών στην απόδοση και επίδοση της ηλεκτρικής μηχανής και του συστήματος ηλεκτρικής κίνησης.
Ανάπτυξη πειραματικού κώδικα αυτοματοποιημένων ακολουθιών μέτρησης
Ανάπτυξη κώδικα προσομοιώσεων για την επιβεβαίωση της μοντελοποίησης και τη σύγκριση με τα πειραματικά αποτελέσματα
Αρχειοθέτηση πειραματικών αποτελεσμάτων στις αντίστοιχες βάσεις δεδομένων

What You’ll Bring

Studies in electrical engineering
Strong mathematical and physics background
Excellent knowledge of electrical machines theory
Experience in conducting electric/thermal/mechanical/acoustic measurements with high accuracy
Matlab programming
equipment (power analyzer, oscilloscope etc.)
Experience with dynamometer layout and Veristand

The following will be considered as plus:

· Experience in advanced electromagnetics modeling

· Experience running a laboratory or motor test rig

· Experience realizing power electronic boards

Εμπειρία σε δυναμομετρήσεις και στο Veristand

· Εμπειρία σε μοντελοποίηση ηλεκτρομαγνητικών προβλημάτων

· Εμπειρία σε εργαστηριακές μετρήσεις ηλεκτρικών μηχανών

· Εμπειρία στην κατασκευή κυκλωμάτων ηλεκτρονικών ισχύος
