The Associate Youth Pastor is a support position to the Youth Pastor at the campus level.

At Life.Church, we exist to lead people to become fully devoted followers of Christ. It’s been our mission since 1996 and has guided us every day. Leading people isn’t just an expectation; it’s a necessity.  It’s a cornerstone of our culture. That's why we’re always seeking leaders—leaders like you—to bring your skills to life. We are one church meeting in multiple locations, and we want to help you become the person God made you to be.

The Life.Church Switch ministry is devoted to leading students in 6th-12th grade to become fully devoted followers of Christ. Staff and volunteer leaders develop relationships with students during weekly experiences, small groups, and serving opportunities by teaching truth through God's Word and being culturally relevant.

The Associate Youth Pastor (AYP) will be, in part, responsible for the leadership and execution of the vision of student ministry. Success for this role will be people (students and adults alike) in the AYPs sphere of influence taking next steps in their spiritual growth-like beginning a relationship with Jesus, serving, inviting, giving, engaging in God’s word, and leading.

    • Follow protocol to onboard new leaders, including background screening, training, and orientations.
    • Provide ongoing leadership development for the leader team.
    • Connect with and develop the team of coaches who will provide the most direct leadership and relational connection to the larger leader team.
    • Develop coaches to ensure that lobby set up/tear down is executed with excellence and Switch Host Team is prepared and ready to greet and provide hospitality to students and parents.
    • Ensure that a volunteer coach has all video files downloaded and that the program (including lighting and technology) is prepared with excellence.
    • Provide support if challenges arise during an experience.
    • Provide support on the weekend for Loop (5th-6th grade experience).
    • Identify and inspire and train/develop adults to lead students in Loop during the weekend.
    • Occasionally communicate a live message to Loop students with provided notes and video support from Central.
    • Provide Pastoral care to families.
    • Identify and inspire students to serve on the weekend.
    • Communicate to leaders, parents, and students in multiple forms (text, email, social media, lobby) the vision and values of Switch and Life.Church.
    • Lead or co-lead special events like Leader Nights, At the Movies projects, Family Weekend, and Capacity (student leadership conference) prep.
    • Learn the budget process.
    • Learn about and be able to communicate about all other Life Church ministries.

Skills Needed to Succeed

    • Inspire people both verbally and in written communication.
    • Clearly present expectations, processes, and policies in a way that leads to the right outcome.
    • Ability to provide objective solutions to ministry issues/complaints.
    • Ability to self-motivate and make independent decisions.
    • Knowledgeable in all necessary systems that Life.Church uses to manage volunteers, present content on the weekend in Loop and on Wednesdays in the auditorium, and report appropriate information and analytics at the organizational level.
    • Savvy with social media.
    • Skilled in empowering people and growing a team, and leading others to reach a desired outcome.
    • Adept at leading through conflict.
    • Time management skills.
    • High school diploma or GED.

    • #LI-ONSITE
At Life.Church, we are passionate about reaching more people in more communities. We hire new team members to begin their journey at an existing Life.Church location so they can learn the culture and systems of our church from experienced pastors already on the team. Our hope is, as we continue to launch new locations, we can send pastors who are ready to lead on day one because of what they’ve learned at an existing location in preparation.
