Yellow Brick Games is seeking an Audio Programmer to join their team. The role involves close collaboration with engineers and the Audio team to develop tools and audio systems for content creators. The role requires a deep understanding of audio fundamentals and the ability to work within Unreal Engine. The programmer will also support audio designers, ensuring efficient workflows and high-quality audio systems. The role will work closely with the audio team to create and ensure delivery of high-quality audio systems with efficient innovative workflows.
Must have:
  • 5+ years of experience as a Programmer
  • 2 years of experience in Audio Programming
  • One shipped AAA or AA title
  • Strong C++ programming skills
  • Knowledge in game development for multi-threaded systems
  • Expertise in debugging techniques
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Knowledge of audio fundamentals
Good to have:
  • Experience with Unreal and third-party audio middleware (Wwise)

Job Details

Yellow Brick Games is hiring an Audio Programmer to join our team of experienced developers working on an exciting new IP. In this role, you will work closely with engineers and our Audio team to create the necessary tools and audio systems to facilitate the production for content creators. Yellow Brick Games is based in Quebec City, Canada, and we are open to discuss remote-work situations. Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain audio systems that allow content creators to facilitate the production.
  • Work closely with our Audio team to create and ensure delivery of high-quality audio systems with efficient innovative workflows.
  • Analyse the performance of the audio system and optimize accordingly.
  • Maintain and optimize existing audio systems on Unreal Engine.
  • Document and support feature creation.
  • Support and maintain sound, voice, and localisation pipelines.
  • Support audio designers in implementing audio features with best practices.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Programmer and taking games from concept to completion.
  • 2 years of experience in Audio Programming.
  • At least one shipped AAA or AA title in the PC or console space.
  • Strong C++ programming skills is a mandatory.
  • Knowledge in game development for multi-threaded systems.
  • Expertise in debugging techniques and software development practices.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Self-sufficient and resourceful; able to identify and work with technical constraints.
  • Knowledge of audio fundamentals (Occlusion, Reverb, sound propagation, digital signal processing etc.)
  • Experience with Unreal and third-party audio middleware (Wwise) a plus.
