Backend Programmer

We are looking for a highly skilled Backend Programmer to make our game more efficient, secure, reliable, and scalable. You'll be joining the Backend Tech Team, collaborating with experts in programming, data, infrastructure, and player experience to extend and implement services and applications. Working on a live game comes with unique challenges—your code will interact with millions of players, and you'll need to respond quickly to live issues, requiring creativity, attention to detail, and adaptability. This role values strong communication and collaboration, which are essential for building trust and working well with the team.

Responsibilities

• Designing, implementing, and testing game backend functionality for a single mobile game using C# and latest Microsoft .NET technologies
• Driving feature implementation from design to deployment and monitoring
• Ensuring game backends are stable, secure, efficient, and scalable
• Integrating external services with game servers
• Collaborating with the backend technology provider
• Supporting other programmers and developers in their requests for tooling and features
• Participating in on-call rotation for live monitoring and troubleshooting with various stakeholders
• Working on a live game with its particular challenges, including rigorous testing, migrations, monitoring, and maintenance

Requirements

• Experience writing quality code, especially in C# using .NET framework
• Proficient in working with databases, especially SQL
• Good understanding of stateful and stateless server architectures
• Ability to work with frontend technologies, including Vue and REST APIs
• Skills in integrating external services or third-party APIs with existing backend systems
• Expertise in building and operating scalable applications for a large number of simultaneous users
• Proficiency with cloud services such as AWS
• Experience in conducting performance testing and working with monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus, and Loki
