Job Description

Tesla's Body Repair Program seeks a skilled Body Repair Painter in Eagle Farm to restore Tesla vehicles using advanced tools and eco-friendly methods. Responsibilities include high-quality spray application of primers, sealers, basecoats, and clearcoats, achieving approximately 6 fully prepped ROs daily (mix of bumpers and panel jobs). The role demands precise color blending, working effectively within a team, and maintaining OEM finish standards without extensive sanding and buffing. Experience with urethane-based refinishing systems is essential, along with proficiency in using various hand and power tools. The ideal candidate will be willing to train others and work overtime when necessary. I-Car Australia certification is a plus.

Urethane refinishing systems expertise
High-quality spray application skills
Color blending and matching abilities
Teamwork and willingness to train
Proficiency with hand and power tools

Good to have:

I-Car Australia certification
Experience with Downdraft spray booths

What You’ll Do

High quality spray application of Primers, Sealers, Basecoats, and Clearcoats
Spraying approximately 6 (Fully Prepped) RO’s per day (2 Bumper, 1 - six panel jobs, 3 - Two to three panel jobs) in state-of-the-art Downdraft spray booths
Work closely with Prep Staff and other Painters to meet work demands as a team
Invisible basecoat colour blending
Application of 2 and 3 stage colours

What You’ll Bring

3+ years of experience refinishing cars in an automotive collision repair environment utilizing urethane based refinish systems
Able to produce sprayed finishes with little or no dirt and a consistent gloss and texture matching the OEM finish without the need to sand and buff
Willingness to work overtime if required
Any certification in I-Car Australia is a plus
Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record
Capable of reading and comprehending automotive repair procedures
Experience with operations and maintenance of a wide variety of hand and power tools, shop tools, test equipment
Must be willing to train others
Must be comfortable working in a collision shop environment
