The Brand Manager at CIG will develop and execute data-driven marketing strategies for game content launches. This includes partnering with cross-functional and development teams, acting as a brand steward across multiple IPs, conducting market analysis, and collaborating with the Creative Director on marketing materials (web, trailers, social media, promotions, events). The role involves managing third-party vendors, asset delivery, and identifying effective positioning for target audiences. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience in AAA game brand marketing, a deep understanding of brand management, and the ability to lead projects from planning to post-launch.

The Brand Marketing team, a key group within the overall Marketing team at CIG, is responsible for building foundational plans for projects and promotions with emphasis on their associated marketing strategy, also, for working across the company and beyond, to execute globally through the mix of functional disciplines so that goals and strategies are met. 

The Global Brand Manager is an expert, guardian and advocate for assigned projects and promotions within the portfolio, with responsibility for the creation of integrated marketing plans and their executionThe Global Brand Manager will partner with a diverse range of partners across product development, functional marketing teams, and external partners as applicable – to inform, collaborate and execute for overall benefit to the business.

What does a Brand Manager at CIG do? 

  • Reporting to the Senior Brand Manager, manage data-driven, innovative consumer-driven marketing strategies; and oversee the tactical execution of game content launches and own go-to-market planning.

  • Partner with and manage cross-functional teams and game development teams to solidify plans and flawlessly execute.
    Act as the steward across the multiple Cloud Imperium IPs and brands.

  • Conduct competitive and market analysis to aid strategic commercial planning, and post-mortem reporting on plan execution.

  • Work with Creative Director to deliver best in class creative executions. Creative executions you’ll be involved in managing may include, but aren’t limited to: Web, Trailers, Social Media, Promotions, and Events.

  • Work with and manage third party vendors, launch partners and external stakeholders.

  • Manage asset delivery and liaison with internal development and production.

  • Be a knowledge expert on our games and Star Citizen universe. Use this knowledge to identify positionings and value propositions with various target audiences. Manage how we reach those audiences and communicate this positioning creatively to them
     

What do we expect from our Brand Manager? 

  • 3+ years of experience in a brand marketing role in the gaming sector ideally working across AAA game titles.

  • Extensive knowledge of brand management and positioning and can craft compelling consumer propositions to varied audiences.

  • Has taken AAA titles from planning stages through to live release and beyond.

  • Able to work with other teams and disciplines to complement and support each other's plans and objectives.

  • Be an independent thinker who can make convincing, information-based decisions.

  • Extensive knowledge of video games and their respective communities.

  • Detail-oriented and driven to organize and re-prioritize tasks and decisions under regularly shifting requirements and deadlines.

  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance marketing and communication strategies to the next level.

About The Company

Cloud Imperium Games is a new kind of independent studio dedicated to delivering AAA experiences outside the established publisher system, founded by Chris Roberts, creator of the best selling Wing Commander and Freelancer series, Cloud Imperium is currently developing Star Citizen, a record-shattering crowd funded title that combines classic space sim gameplay with Hollywood-caliber visuals.
