As a Broadcast Engineer, you'll be an essential part of our team, ensuring high-quality audio and video production for the Oklahoma City Thunder home games, press conferences, and special events! In this collaborative role, youll support the production control room, which powers our scoreboard shows, while also maintaining the arenas broadcast infrastructure and equipment for regional sports networks.
In this role you will:
- Coordinate technical and transmission needs for home and visiting radio and television production teams

Conduct routine checks, maintenance, and arrange equipment repairs

Set up and oversee the technical requirements for streaming events

Oversee broadcast connectivity in the arena, test systems, and document or arrange repairs as needed

Perform signal and source routing throughout the broadcast facility

Ensure local, regional, and national broadcasts have the correct circuits and shared resources for production and transmission

Verify show transmission with local and regional TV networks

Learn and follow NBA Broadcasting procedures and standards

Contribute to broadcast infrastructure project designs and implementation

Provide technical support for non-game events, such as press conferences and team events

Maintain records of hardware, software, equipment configurations, repairs, and upgrades

Build relationships with visiting engineers, manufacturers representatives, integrators, and technical staff

Support the Broadcasting team with additional technical, broadcast, and audio-visual (AV) tasks as needed
- Carry out all tasks in accordance with established industry standards and broadcast regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
What youll bring to the role:

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Media, or equivalent experience in broadcast television and AV engineering

Proven experience in maintaining and troubleshooting video production facilities

Proficient with live television equipment: cameras, production switchers, video servers, graphics systems, routing systems, intercoms, signal testing, broadcast cabling, and replay systems

Strong understanding of audio systems: live mixing, audio processing, transport, system equalization, and measurement

Familiar with Internet Protocol (IP) and Local Area Networking (LAN)
- Experience with Ross production switcher, Evertz Routing & Dream Catcher, Ross Xpression, Click FX, Riedel Intercom, Grass Valley cameras & camera control units (CCUs), Multichannel Audio Digital Interface (MADI) and Audio Engineering Society Standard for Audio over IP and Interoperability (AES67), and Dante audio

Knowledge of LED video display technology (Daktronics systems knowledge preferred)

Additional Details:
As a Broadcast Engineer, you will collaborate with the Manager of Broadcast & Technical Operations, the Producer of Video Production & Thundervision, and the Gameday Engineer to support both event-day production and post-production operations. The primary work location is the Paycom Center in downtown Oklahoma City. This position requires flexibility in working non-standard days and hours. Availability is required for all home-games, as well as preseason, postseason games, and related events.
