Job Description

This role is for a Lead Business Analyst - Fixed Income in Tokyo, Japan. The selected candidate will be responsible for analyzing and understanding the in-house AS-IS system used for calculating risk and P&L of fixed income derivatives and cash fixed income securities. Key responsibilities include identifying challenges and pain points, working with business teams to understand needs and requirements, collaborating with solution architects on system re-architecture, and assisting the project manager with planning and reporting. The project involves re-architecting a fixed income trading application for a global investment bank, encompassing cash securities and fixed income OTC derivatives.

Must have:

10+ years overall experience, 6+ years as a business analyst in fixed income within an investment bank
Strong understanding of investment bank technology infrastructure, data management, and business flows
In-depth knowledge of Fixed Income business flows involving OTC Interest rates derivatives and Cash FI securities
Proven track record of delivering complex technology projects
Excellent communication and analytical skills
Requirement gathering skills
Ability to analyze documentation in Japanese

Good to have:

Prior experience in legacy modernization
Experience with Murex, Orchestrade, Calypso, Summit
Prior experience working with Japanese clients
Japanese (B1 Intermediate), English (C1 Advanced)

Project description

Client is one of the well-established global investment bank looking to reachitect their fixed income trading application which includes both cash securities and fixed income OTC derivatives.

Responsibilities

Analyse and understand in-house AS-IS system being used for calculation of Risk and PL of fixed income derivatives and cash fixed income securities.

Identify the challenges, pain points associated with current fixed income systems and underlying technology / architecture.

Work closely with business team to understand their needs and requirement.

Work closely with solution architect to put together roadmap roadmap/plan for a re-architecture of client's Fixed Income system landscape.

Assist the Project Manager in project planning, task prioritization, and status reporting.

Skills

Must have

10+ years of overall experience out of which 6+ years as business analyst in the fixed income space within an Investment bank.

Strong understanding of Investment Bank technology infrastructure, data management, and business flows

In-depth knowledge of Fixed Income business flows involving OTC Interest rates derivatives and Cash FI securities.

Proven track record of successfully delivering complex technology projects involving cross-functional teams and fostering collaboration between IT, Front office, Operations, Risk and finance.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups.

Strong analytical skills, requirements gathering skill

Ability to analyse documentation in Japanese

Nice to have

Prior experience in legacy modernization

Experience with systems such as Murex, Orchestrade, Calypso, Summit etc

Prior experience of working with Japanese client
