Project description

We are seeking an experienced Market Risk Technology Business Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders in the risk management and technology domains to support the delivery of key market risk systems, data solutions, and reports. You will play a crucial role in understanding business requirements, translating them into technical solutions, and collaborating with developers to ensure successful implementation of market risk systems, tools, and processes.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with market risk, trading, and technology teams to gather, analyze, and document business requirements for market risk applications and systems.

Conduct gap analysis and create detailed functional specifications and business cases for new and enhanced market risk solutions.

Work closely with technology teams to ensure the successful delivery of risk solutions, including risk reports, data models, and calculation engines.

Support the design, testing, and implementation of market risk systems, ensuring alignment with business needs and regulatory requirements.

Manage requirements through the entire project lifecycle, including testing, UAT (User Acceptance Testing), and post-deployment support.

Assist in defining risk methodologies, models, and stress-testing frameworks used for risk analysis and reporting.

Provide detailed analysis and insights related to market risk exposure, portfolio risk, value-at-risk (VaR), and other market risk measures.

Create and maintain documentation for market risk processes, system configurations, and regulatory compliance procedures.

Provide support for production issues related to market risk systems, including troubleshooting and issue resolution.

Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies relevant to market risk management.

Skills

Must have

5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in market risk, preferably in financial services or investment banking.

Market Risk Knowledge: Strong understanding of market risk management concepts, including risk types (e.g., interest rate, FX, equity, commodity), risk measures (VaR, stress testing, P&L, etc.), and risk reporting.

Technical Understanding: Experience working with risk management systems, data flows, and financial products (derivatives, fixed income, equities, etc.).

Requirements Gathering: Proven experience in gathering, documenting, and analyzing business requirements for technology projects.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels, including risk managers, developers, and senior leadership.

Problem-Solving: Ability to solve complex issues, analyze large datasets, and present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with financial regulations related to market risk, such as Basel III, Dodd-Frank, or EMIR.

Tools & Technologies: Experience with risk management tools (e.g., Murex, Calypso, Openlink), SQL for data analysis, and proficiency in Excel or other data visualization tools.

Nice to have

Familiarity with cloud-based risk platforms or big data technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Hadoop).

Knowledge of financial derivatives and structured products and their impact on market risk.

Exposure to advanced risk analytics techniques, such as machine learning models for risk prediction.

Experience with regulatory reporting and compliance frameworks.

Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.

Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other reporting/visualization tools.

Exposure to financial trading systems, back office systems, and risk control frameworks.
