The Business Development and IP Licensing Manager – China will focus on driving market growth and commercialization for Sky: Children of the Light. Responsibilities include developing and implementing business development strategies, identifying and managing business partnerships, negotiating contracts, developing and executing IP licensing strategies, collaborating with internal teams, overseeing licensed product creation, analyzing performance, maintaining partner relationships, and staying updated on industry trends. The role requires a deep understanding of Sky and its community, strong negotiation and communication skills, and experience in game business development and IP licensing.

Location: Shanghai, China

we are seeking a Business Development and IP Licensing Manager who will focus primarily on game business development while also handling IP licensing collaborations. This position requires a deep understanding of "Sky: Children of the Light" and its community, along with extensive experience in game business development and IP licensing management.

What you'll do here:

  • Develop and implement business development strategies to drive market growth and commercialization goals for "Sky: Children of the Light."

  • Identify and evaluate potential business partners, negotiate terms, and manage contracts to promote game marketing and user growth.

  • Manage business collaborations with third-party platforms, channels, and partners, ensuring strong relationships and maximizing partnership benefits.

  • Develop and implement IP licensing strategies, identify and evaluate potential licensing partners, negotiate terms, and manage contracts to maximize brand exposure and revenue.

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (including marketing, legal, and product development) to ensure smooth execution of business and licensing agreements.

  • Oversee the creation and approval of licensed products, ensuring they meet brand standards and resonate with the "Sky: Children of the Light" community.

  • Monitor and analyze the performance of business and licensing partnerships, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.

  • Maintain strong relationships with existing partners, exploring renewal and expansion opportunities.

  • Stay informed about industry trends and competitor activities to guide business and licensing strategies and identify new opportunities.

You Must:

  1. Experience: At least 5 years of experience in game business development, brand licensing, or related roles, preferably in the gaming or entertainment industry.

  2. Knowledge: Deep understanding of "Sky: Children of the Light" and its community, with a passion for the game and its values.

  3. Skills: Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills, with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

  4. Analytical Ability: Proficient in analyzing market data, business and licensing performance metrics, and financial reports to drive decision-making.

  5. Creativity: Ability to think creatively and strategically about business collaborations and licensing opportunities.

  6. Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.

  7. Language Proficiency: Fluent in both Chinese and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to Haves: 

  • Experience with international brand collaborations and cross-border licensing agreements.

  • Extensive network of contacts within the gaming, entertainment, and consumer goods industries.

  • Proven track record of successful business development and licensing deals that significantly contributed to brand growth and revenue.
