As a Business Development Director for Data Solutions, you will be responsible for expanding Spaulding Ridge's presence in the European market. You will focus on acquiring new clients, building relationships, and understanding their needs to offer valuable solutions. You will manage the full sales cycle, from identifying prospects to closing deals and transitioning new clients to the account management team. This role involves seeking out new business opportunities, converting prospects into clients, and meeting sales targets. You will also collaborate with leadership teams, develop marketing campaigns, represent the company at industry events, and monitor market trends.
Must have:
  • 10+ years of B2B sales experience in technology.
  • Experience in business development or new client acquisition.
  • Experience influencing VP and C-level executives.
  • Proven track record of meeting sales targets.
  • Ability to manage and forecast a complex sales process.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

About the Role: 

As a Business Development Director for Data Solutions, you will play a critical role in expanding our presence across the European market. You will strategically acquire new clients by cultivating trust-based relationships within the channel as well as with client executives to understand their mission-critical priorities and uncover opportunities to deliver client value through the lens of the industry in which they operate. You will drive the full sales cycle, from identifying prospects to closure and transition of new accounts to the account management team. 

The Business Development Director will be focused on mid-market and large-enterprise prospects, which may be completely new prospects with no existing spend or could be clients within other Spaulding Ridge service line offerings.  
 
What you will do:  

  • Seek out and drive new business opportunities for the Data Solutions and Salesforce teams across UK, Nordics, southern Europe and other EMEA markets, from initial client outreach to close, targeting mid-market and large enterprise organizations.  
  • Convert viable prospects into active Spaulding Ridge clients, owning the full sales conversation and negotiation, through to the transition of new clients to the SR account owners. 
  • Continually build a pipeline of high-quality opportunities to deliver against your sales metrics, ensuring KPIs are met.  
  • Quota responsibility for your assigned territory.  
  • Collaborate with the Data Solutions and Salesforce leadership teams in forecasting and account planning on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis. 
  • Work closely with marketing and alliances to develop targeted campaigns and materials that support business development efforts. 
  • Represent the company at industry and channel events and conferences. 
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to inform business strategy. 

You have: 

  • 10+ years’ B2B sales experience within the technology sector, with a focus on Data solutions, Salesforce, Analytics, or related fields. 
  • Previous business development or new-client acquisition experience.
  • Experience selling to and/or influencing VP and C-level executives.  
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.  
  • Proven ability to manage and forecast a complex sales process.  
  • Willingness to travel as needed.  
  • SaaS and Data Solutions selling experience is preferred.
